We just got put on 2 days a week lockdown. Grass can't make it 3 days without looking gray after day 2.

This is the past 30 days. There are some spots in DFW that have had no rain.

Louisiana and East Texas. Shows how the rain has been over S LA - mostly SE LA.

I talked to a guy in the panhandle that’s had .02 since last October. I can’t wrap my head around that.

The good news is that the pattern has broken some in the panhandle over the past few days. Yesterday evening/last night there were some slow-moving storms that put down serious rain. Multiple flash flood warnings went up with rates around 3"/hr or so.

One positive note: the water hazards at our club are drying up. Here is the par 3 15th hole from our patio. This water hazard is down about 2 feet - it's recharged from the Brazos River which is also down.

Plenty??
Guadalupe River is dry and down to rocks.
When I saw this I thought this was last year.

okc here... plus we have property in southern Oklahoma.

It's been freaking brutal... 111 degrees a few weeks ago. No rain. You can see trees dead on the sides of the road all over.

Yes. We had a small break. About 30 minutes of rain then we are going back to 104 degrees daily will full sun... Sept can't get here fast enough.

I been babying newly planted trees with a water wand. A deep root watering tool.

No pics as I have limited internet here with a pos tablet...

Your “plenty of rain” isn’t going to amount to Jack given how dry we have been for the last year. Dry fall, winter, and spring have more of an impact that any rain you’ve received in the past month.

I don’t care wheee you live in Texas this mentality of a green lawn as a must needs to go away. Should have been a thing of the past 15-20 years ago. Very short sighted and the focus needs to be on conserving water in this state. Additionally, your yard is of minor importance in the grand scheme of things as beef/crop production is hurting with this drought. That will impact you more than a brown lawn.

sure. as soon as:

a) the rest of my neighborhood agrees to this same virtuous principle.
b) someone pays for the new lawn-less landscaping.

It’s definitely dry and that sucks but I welcome a little break.

People seem to forget that we’ve had flooding rains for the past ten years.

Live in Dallas but have been flying to Denver every week for work. Those "330 days of sun a year" folks have gotten more rain than DFW the last few months.

Also, Shreveport finally got a ton of rain last night.
