It won’t, neither will the other types of foolishness that have infected the modern world, until some real world shite happens. We all know the old saying, but pretending to believe in craziness is better than the world going to shite. It’s just words coming from a comedian’s mouth, it ain’t that serious.

I would call it lecturing with a joke every 5 minutes or so. He went from my favorite to I don't even bother to go see him or watch his specials

That's just the style of some comedians...long set ups for the joke

I watched that special and thought it was solid

Just a preference of styles I guess

The special was hilarious. I had no idea where he was going with the Jim Carey Norm McDonald story.. but it was funny.

Yeah Dave is still funny but storyteller instead of joke teller makes for a dragging comedy special.

I know most won't admit this, but on a technical level, it's true.

His rhythm and beats have slowed, and he doesn't tag like he used to. He tells stories and makes fun of woke people - which is funny; it's just not the classic stand-up that made him great. As good as he is, it seems he isn't trying anymore.

Dave has really just pandered hard to a new crowd and it ends up with unoriginal jokes like this that have been told plenty before.

No he hasn’t. What makes it funny is for years his jokes pissed off the shemale/gay crowd, and he never knew when or what made them hate him.

When he realized his jokes pissed them off, he went all in and started intentionally targeting them in his jokes.

It’s not pandering, he’s now intentionally trying to piss them off regardless of the audience.

The act itself is fricking hilarious regardless if the jokes are old and stale.

He tells you this long story to set you up then hits you with the boom. Classic Norm style joke.

This is the true genius of it…At the end of the day it was the ultimate tribute to his really good friend

full disclosure, as a poster, dawgfan has always felt the need to defend the LBTQXYZLMNOP+ crowd.

I like the storyteller format, but I’m also good with someone like Mark Normand. Laughing is what’s its about, I’m not that concerned with how I get there.

The thread title and tweet give away the joke though. The whole time I knew he was going to say it’s how I feel about trans people.

Is he doing comedy again or still preaching with an occasional joke?

Just watched the new special. He was just below preaching but the jokes came every few minutes.

Uses the N word almost like a crutch now. Laughs at his own jokes too much.

He isnt what he used to be and the last 15 minutes was meh as hell.

Bridging his shitty Titanic joke was awesome though. I dunno what comedians call it but I love when you juump back to a joke at the end of a set and link it

He admitted in the special to being a lazy comedian. He doesn't care if people dislike his act or jokes.

Exactly, that's why absolutely no one in the audience laughed or clapped.
