Bitter and poor, what a great combination.

Every dude pays for dates that go no where. That is part of the game. Consider it a pussy tax. Quit being a bitch about it.

You use those dates to get better. Figure out what stories you tell suck, figure out what questions you ask suck, figure out the eating habits that get strange looks...you have to be ready for right one. This dude is not.

So you won't pay $10 for a couple drinks?

I don't think your dating views are radical, but I also think you won't get many dates using that approach.

This chick texted all her friends about you and they all said not to go on the date.

Hell, you could even make it a game, go to a trivia night where you know you'll win, and say "loser buys"

I don't disagree with your opinion but your approach and execution was terrible. I would pay but that is just me. FWIW I find that these days about half of the women out there want to pay their way so to speak. You pick of the tab this date and she will pick up the next one.

It's just your tone. You definitely came across like a bit of an arse. The idea of what you said is valid but your delivery left a lot to be desired. You could've easily said "Do you have a problem going Dutch for our first date?" and left out all the stuff about other women. If she'd said no then you know she was just looking for a free meal or is a "princess" and you could both move on. I largely agree with her responses.

My girlfriend makes almost 3x more than me and I still pay for the majority of our dates. She'll pay every now and then, but she'll also pay for other things like hotel rooms when we go somewhere. I never ask her to pay even though she makes more. Call it what you want, but I just don't feel right asking her to pay. Plus, I know she appreciates it even more cause according to her she, "knows how much I care about her to still offer to pay for everything."

In conclusion, I'll be having sex tonight and you won't.

Text message from me to her: Before we get to talking on the phone I do want to be up front about a few things. One is I have no interested in having children and plan to have a vasectomy in late April. Two is that if we do head out on a date I want you to know that I believe in brutal equality. I believe in chivalry but on the first few dates I go dutch. I do this because I have been hurt by women in the past, being used just as a glorified ATM. These women weren't really interested in me but just wanted a free night on the town. I believe in chivalry but I believe it must be earned. I think it's important for both sides to show financial commitment in a relationship. I understand this might come off as a radical view and I hope none of these two things scare you off.

What you have just communicated is "I am way too serious for my own good. You can hang out with me, but its gonna suck."

What you did is the equivalent of meeting someone else that you want to be friends with at a party and telling them within the first ten minutes of your conversation that you have some ground rules for them for a friendship that they need to meet. Who wants that?

I 100% guarantee that when you eventually DO find a woman and eventually get married - you'll be paying for that vasectomy reversal...

No, Catholic.

Based on your interactions with women, ever consider going into the priesthood?

No offense, but you have a better shot at sex there than you do in the dating world.

Jesus, man.

My question is this, are my dating views really that radical? Where did I go wrong? Does this woman's have (wanting equality in all aspects of life except dating where she wants tradition) a viewpoint that is somewhat hypocritical?

Your views are radical and a woman that doesn't want to take any shite called you on them.

After the first few dates I would be glad to start paying for things. I just think it's a show of good faith to go dutch the first few dates. I think it also shows to me that the woman is financially committed to a relationship and not just looking for a free dinner. I don't feel like I was actively trying to punish the woman for what other women have done to me.

it comes off that way, you clearly aren't ready to date anyone if you cant justify in your head why your should pay for the first date. When dating you have to put yourself out there, if that means being down $30 if yall didnt hit it off then so be it. If money/going dutch is more important to you than being with someone then you shouldnt be dating at all.
