Its just not allowed.
nowadays I think it's fine to split or alternate picking up checks, or whoever asks pays, etc.
It's beyond dumb to expect the man to pay for everything in today's world

You would've hated my response to her response then. I went into the history of men paying for the date and how it came out of necessity rather than chivalry. That basically men had to pay because women for the most part didn't work out of the house and that without men paying they wouldn't be able to go out. I feel like most people don't realize this. What this wrong to say as well?
Man I hope you’re just trolling. Online dating had to be invented by someone without a single ounce of GAME.

First...don’t talk about your plans about children before you’ve gone out on even one date. You are getting way ahead of yourself on that issue.
Second...your position on going Dutch eliminates about 99.8 of all women. Any self respecting woman knows she deserves better and won’t even waste their time on you. I’m a woman. I make six figures. I don’t need your money or you to pay for dinner or drinks or coffee. But, if you expect to go Dutch the first couple dates you are out. How do I know you aren’t after my money?
I understand the principle of what you are saying, but it’s just not the world we live in. Accept it, or accept loneliness.
From a woman’s perspective, you sound like a cheap bastard that behaves irrationally just out of principle. No one wants to date that.
She was nicer to you than I would have been. Sounds like you let a potentially good one get away over a $50 meal. Not smart.

if a man takes a woman out and doesn't offer to pay, he wasn't raised right. If the woman doesn't offer to split she wasn't raised right

You sound like a massive a-hole. Don’t be cheap. You win some you lose some. Expecting women to go Dutch on the first few dates is guaranteeing you won’t have a second date.

Maybe, possibly, sometimes if they are over 30. When I think of people dating, I automatically think of youngsters.
So maybe, possibly, once-in-a-lifetime yes.
I personally would think the lady must either think I was poor or she didn't want to have any future dealings with me.

Good Lord, bot you and her, but especially you, are wayyyyyyyy overthinking this shite.
You've never met her, just go out on a date already before fricking it up.
Also, no matter how pure your intentions are after the fact, if you tell someone you believe in "brutal" equality, you're likely never even getting to that 1st date, case in point here.

The first few dates with any woman are like powerball tickets. Odds are you are not going to hit the jackpot, but you definitely won't hit the jackpot if you don't buy a ticket.

It’s not that you are necessarily wrong, it’s probably more your delivery. I can understand saying you prefer something small and going Dutch. If you do that, then just head out for coffee or something lite and easy.
No one needs to earn your chivalry. And telling her she has to earn your chivalry, is giving her a test, that she probably doesn’t even know the rules for, then deciding if she meets the threshold for your chivalrous behavior.
Everyone, both men and women, has a scoundrel in their past that can impact how they view relationships in the future. But that’s your issue, not hers. Don’t bring it up before you’ve even met. Get to know her first and then talk about why you’re so screwed up.
Good luck

You come off as an intolerable douchebag. Good for that girl for seeing that immediately.
Also, am I the only one that thought about the Family Guy episode where Quagmire invited the hot chick over with the fricked up leg when OP mentioned her pinky finger? For reference

Did you also tell her in your "truth or dare" messages that you plan on moving to Eastern Europe to avoid the collapse of the USA which is coming soon, IYO?
