Must have finally realized they were admitting a bunch of dumbasses

“Dartmouth College will require SAT or ACT scores beginning with next year’s class of applicants, the first Ivy League school to reverse course on pandemic-era test-optional policies. “

From another article:

“Three Dartmouth economists and a sociologist then dug into the numbers. One of their main findings did not surprise them: Test scores were a better predictor than high school grades — or student essays and teacher recommendations — of how well students would fare at Dartmouth. The evidence of this relationship is large and growing,”

While it is an Ivy, Dartmouth is less able to coast on its reputation than the trinity of Harvard, Yale, and Princeton.

Nope they'll still have the same demographics:

40% Legacy/donors
30% international moguls/diplomats
20% athletes
10% DEI affirmative action

It's always fun when the left's idiotic policies come back and bite them.

Sometimes, you have to just let the tiger bite you, before you learn to stop sticking your hand in the cage.

Chart shows they had a 3.5 GPA at Dartmouth their first year. So they made 1 B?

It's crazy the amount of scholarship money that is solely based on the ACT. My twins have identical GPAs, with identical 10 AP classes, and one got 2-3 times more money due to her ACT being 4 points higher. One has a 33, the other a 29. The 33 can go pretty much anywhere for free/actually get paid. The 29 with TOPS, would still owe roughly 60K to LSU for a bachelor's.

LSU now uses counselors to "get to know the appliant as a person" instead of looking at scores. And test scores are indeed optional at LSU.

Grade inflation. And a 3.5 isn’t 1 B

So what they’re saying is that Dartmouth is systemically racist, right?

Maybe LSU, Ole Miss or Alabama

Most of the rest out of state that would only be true if parents made under a certain amount of money

How is that possible? My son had a 4.2 GPA in high school and a 26 on the ACT. Between TOPS and the $1500 per semester President's Scholarship, I pay less than $800 per semester to LSU. They even offered him a student job to cover the remaining amount.

It’s actually racist to suggest that it’s racist now

Graphic shows that no matter the SAT score a student can earn As in most of their classes at Dartmouth. School isn’t challenging.
