even with this verdict, I'm going to be very careful going forward about sticking my neck out for other people I don't know.

yep. It is strange that the jury was hung on the first count, but then swiftly went NG on the lesser included. I’m guessing they were pretty close to NG on the first count too.

Unfortunately it's been this way for a while. Protect you, yours, and innocent children and that's it.

Justice is done. The country might truly be changing.

Daniel needs to move to the South if he hasn't already.

I am so relieved for him. He should have never had to go through this. He is a hero.

Excellent!

Can they re-try the first count even though it was dismissed?

I haven’t paid close attention, but hopefully a go fund me or book deal will cover his legal expenses and cost necessary for his personal protection with plenty left over.

I agree. I would love to see him receive donations for doing the right thing and having to go through this.

Daniel Penny has trumped up charges in New York....the jury ultimately finds him not guilty.

Daniel Perry has trumped up charges in Texas......the jury finds him guilty and throws his arse in prison. If not for a sympathetic governor he'd still be there.

That's what I'm thinking. Then, when the prosecution dropped count 1 and the judge agreed, I think that pushed whoever was stuck on guilty into voting NG. I think the prosecution was hoping for a compromise verdict and it backfired.
