Because intent to kill isn’t a required criteria for homicide and the ME doesn’t determine whether a homicide is justified or not, just that the manner of death meets the criteria for homicide. Plenty of homicides result in no charges

Thank you, sir. I was equating homicide with murder.

You know it’s a grift when Neely’s family secured their own attorneys for this stuff.

There were attorneys lining up around the block to offer free services to them just for the free publicity

I believe jury deliberations have been going on for several days now. There is growing "concern" it could be a hung jury which might be the best this guy can hope for in Manhattan.

I am worried for him.

The Shitbag DA that was prosecuting this case repeatedly referred to him as "the white man" throughout the course of the trial, and she's also NYC's lead DA seeking "restorative justice"

The one thing I would say is that the jury asked for some documents and things that might be helpful to Penny.

In particular, they reviewed repeatedly the Coroner testifying that the "video was the only thing she needed to determine cause of death" and that she ran no toxicology or other tests.

not good for Penny if they are hung on manslaughter....hopefully the not guilty jurors stick to their guns on negligent homicide

One thing that pisses me off to no end is "innocent on charge 1, but guilty on lesser charges". All that does is give the prosecution ample opportunity to get him on something when their original charge was in fact overcharged to begin with.

They shouldn't get a free pass like that. In this instance, how can you have a manslaughter charge and negligent homicide charge simultaneously?

rant over

In many states it's not.

Shocking that one of the jurors is double masking. We all know it’s this Blue Anon Zero Covid Community scumbag that led to this:
anyone know if Bragg's office tried to eliminate jurors that had been a victim of crime? Was that a question asked during gaudier?
