Local tangent for you horn dogs-- Helen Mirren's step-son Rio Hackford of New Orleans, owner-operator of One-Eyed Jacks in the French Quarter and former owner of The Matador in the Quarter, died a couple of weeks from cancer.
Rio was a casual acquaintance of mine, a friend of some of my friends in the local music/entertainment business. He did a lot of acting on the side; was in Swingers as one the guys who almost gets in a fight with Favreau and Vaughan's crew. He was also in Jonah Hex and on Treme.
He was a good guy, married with two kids. He was only 51.

I never thought she was that pretty back in the 70s (Excalibur, etc). Not ugly, by any means. Just nothing special - especially when stacked up against her contemporaries. I think she gets so much acclaim is she's done an amazing job holding what she's got.
