I guess you just expect something horrific like this to be from a violent head collision.

I heard of a kid dying from a fastball to the chest. I suppose if it hits perfectly it can cause a lot of damage to the heart.

Prayers for this young man! It does remind me somewhat of Derrick Stingley Jr.'s grandfather, Darryl Stingley who was paralyzed in 1978 from a hit by Jack Tatum. It left him a quadriplegic.

That’s actually somewhat loosely common, no one keels over from a heart attack at 24 on the field.

ESPN really needs to go to another feed. Highlights or something from yesterday. We don't need to keep seeing them trying to fill air time when they have no info.

I get the sentiment but they are waiting for the NFL to make a call like everyone else.

If the NFL office tries to get this game restarted tonight, it’ll be a horrible look for them.

Goodell is a moran, he’s not above moronic decisions.

Zero reason to play this game. Money shouldn’t be a factor.

Nothing specifically bad. Just a lot of shitty conjecture while Boog is shooting daggers with his eyes, willing her to STFU while trying to keep himself together. It was awkward.

There is no requirement to have an ambulance at all high school games. Sounds good but there’s way too many rural schools to get this done. Some counties only have 1 ambulance running on any given Friday night.

I imagine they’re waiting to hear if the guy is in stable condition before they make any decisions.

This game has playoff implications so it has to be played.

4 people can’t do cpr and administer a shock inside and ambulance. They were trying to stabilize him before he left. Shock and CPR to get a rhythm and him breathing on his own. Much easier to do this on the field than in an ambulance.

I get that. My point though is that even if they think they have him stabilized on the field, they're not going to simply hold the ambulance in the parking lot while they get the family down to ride with them. That they waited instead of made a bee-line for the hospital, leaving his family to follow when they could... that's not a good sign to me.

We always had a doctor or two on the sidelines and a ambulance for every varsity game and it was a small town.

Commotio cordis possibly? Heard of it happening in baseball when you get hit in the chest with a line drive or pitch.

Idk, just strikes me as looking for something to be upset about. I’m sure their producers are working on a plan and will switch to something else once the NFL makes the call. There’s nothing stopping viewers from changing the channel either, though.
