Between Bluff and Highland. Backed up past 73.
How difficult is it to drive a vehicle in a straight damn line?

It’s taken me 50 minutes to go from Perkins road to the MS river bridge.

It's not that difficult at all. Problem is the assholes that are driving 95 in a 70 and refuse to go in a straight line and weave in and out of traffic to gain 25 feet.
These are the idiots that should be shot on sight, not so much the other idiots going the speed limit or 5 over in the left lane.

Close, but still not quite right. The actual problem is that people don't leave enough space between their vehicle and the next. Speed is not an issue if you adjust the gap accordingly. Add to this that everyone should try to maintain right lane travel with the left lane primarily used to pass, and there would not be wrecks.

So mustangs, chargers, camaros, and baw trucks.

Took my wife 2 hours to get from Ascension to Port Allen today. I love this state but I'm thinking it time for a move.

Well there's no wreck past that & the interstate is backed up going west. My normal 5 minute commute turned into 30.
I'm ready to blow the entire bridge up.

Technically this is not the case.
Most of drivers do leave enough space between their vehicle and the one they're following. The problem is when they do one the aforementioned a-hole inevitably comes along and cuts in between them. The conscious driver then reduced speed to once again create the proper distance only to have the ignorant process repeated time and time again.
It's a vicious cycle of a very few assholes creating 90% of the drama on the roads.

If people got out of the left lane then no one would have to weave in and out.

that's practically flying in BR

But it's not even speeders most of the time that cut off. You leave any reasonable amount of space between the car in front and yours, someone is going to cut in between no matter how fast/slow they're going

Have you never driven in other big cities? LA traffic is nothing compared to a lot of other places. I always get a good chuckle out of the people that think LA has the worst traffic.

I've said it before, if given the chance and choice between Hitler and whoever devised the road system in this town, that you could time travel back and kill one or the other before they had a chance to do their damage, I would have a tough decision to make.

This is such a stupid argument. Of course a city with 4 million people is gonna have significantly worse traffic than a city with 250k. The problem is that traffic SHOULDN'T be as bad as it is for such a small city & there's really no solutions or action in sight.

It's not just the 4 million people cities, but OK
ETA: And the actual traffic isn't "bad." Bad traffic is 6 lanes locked up for miles on end just as part of the daily commute. Baltimore/Dc areas for example.
For the most part NOLA/BR traffic, while heavy, at least moves.

I waved to you going the other way this morning about this exact time of your OP.
I commute all the fricking way to Jefferson Parish so sometimes I like to laugh at you "15 milers" when you have to sit in traffic.

this shouldn't be surprising but you can thank politicians for that.
