The problem is that traffic SHOULDN'T be as bad as it is for such a small city

I drive every day from Brusly to Baton Rouge everyday. It takes me 20 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the afternoon for travel to and from the office.

Now what is happening right now on the intracoastal that is causing these backups on I-10 is temporary thing that would affect any roadway system.

It's not that difficult at all. Problem is the a-holes that are driving 95 in a 70 and refuse to go in a straight line and weave in and out of traffic to gain 25 feet.

Have you never driven in other big cities? LA traffic is nothing compared to a lot of other places. I always get a good chuckle out of the people that think LA has the worst traffic.

In typical fashion, LNCHBOX is stupid and misguided.
BR Metro Area is too damn small to have big city traffic.

SHut your fricking stupid pie hole and use Google Maps with Traffic layer and check cities like Jackson, Mobile, Birmingham, Jacksonville, Austin, Lubbock, Spokane, Tacoma, Boise, SLC, Des Moines, Knoxville, Lexington, Nashville, Columbus(OH), and back on down to even Nola's daily clusterfrick.

Those cities are all significantly better looking any given day during rush hours. My dorky IT arse has checked Traffic in every one of those cities during their peak traffic hours.
The only city close to our size with "more worser" traffic is Honolulu. I wonder why that may be.

Comparing BR Area traffic to DC, ATL, HOUSTON, and Los fricking Angeles is frickin dumb as your posting shtick.

Sort this by Country and you'll see Baton Rouge up in there with the expected US Cities. That's all you need to see, stupid.

The link I just provide from TOMTOM proves you wrong, stupid.

Sort that list descending on Evening Peak and it's very eye-opening.

We're the 5th US city behind LA, Seattle, San Jose, and San Francisco. Just fricking WOW.

"Big City Traffic" is a metric based on time spent in traffic per driver per peak rush hour.

Baton Rouge HAS "Big City Traffic" by that metric. Shut up and deal with it.

I trust a company specializing in GPS tracking and data over your stupid arse.

At least I'm not like Dick Vitale taking a pinky swear from Pitino as fact.

Stupid.

Wreckless drivers are a problem but an equal problem are the pokey slow folk who camp in left lane, slam brakes for yellow lights, etc. Those people cause frustration and interrupt the traffic flow too.

So can I pick one arbitrary statistic to decide it defines an entire area's traffic too? Or can only you do that?

I don't even get what that means. I'd be willing to be a I know a tiny bit more about traffic than mikel.

Hey dick frick. Sort that list by evening peak% descending(That is the increase in time spent in traffic in rush hour compared to free-flow times eg 3am)

4 US cities spend more time than us in evening rush hour traffic compared to free-flow
Los Angeles
Seattle
San Jose
San Francisco

Deal with losing this argument, stupid.
That stat is a VERY clear indication of lack of Roads for our population.

I remember seeing a study that found driving under the speed limit actually causes more wrecks than driving over the speed limit.

Here's a massive study regarding congestion world wide: INRIX Scorecard

New Orleans ranked 137. Baton Rouge didn't even merit being studied.

You're fighting a losing battle, regardless of what Tom Tom tells you.
