Check this out.. This is a perfect example of how capitalism can be a win-win for everyone. With places like Chick-fil-a and even canes focusing on providing great customer service, it seems like Popeye's has upped their CS game.
Went there a few weeks ago and the guy taking my order at the drive thru came across with some little saying like they do at canes.. something like "chicken chicken, what are you pickin?". I said my order and he asked "anything else sir? and I said "yes and one apple pie" and he was like "Thank you! I made another sale!".
Pulled up to the window and before handing me my order he was like "you wanted BBQ sauce right?" He looks in the bag then puts a BBQ sauce in and said "here is another one just in case".. Never in my life have I ever had anything close to that kind of service at Popeye's... Well, I remember one time it was a Friday during lent, this was years ago (that's the only time I ordered shrimp from Popeyes, was when I actually didn't eat meat on Fridays during lent), I ordered a shrimp dinner. I was asked to pull up. A few minutes later the lady brings me food and she tells me something like "Baby! I am sorry you had to wait.. But I gave you a few extra skirmps!"
Anyway, it's said when you can remember when you actually had good customer service somewhere. But the last time I went there, after that experience I was thinking "this is what makes competition so great!".

I’ve seen managers walk people from their cars to the restaurant with umbrellas when it’s raining, don’t see that at other fast food joints.

I went to the drive up window yesterday at their new location on Burbank Drive in Baton Rouge and waited for a good 5 minutes and no one ever even asked to take my order. I just drove off.....

i would've never let those hoodrats set foot in one of my chick-fil-a's if i owned one

It's so much more than that too. They are very Selective with franchisees and they only allow you to own one location. Which means each owner has a very close relationship with their branch rather than just farming out the day to day operation. This leads to all the great side effects you see there.
It really is a great model.
And these store owners make serious money.

Ill never forget the owner of the one on College Drive was outside in 110 degree heat walking from car to car in the drive thru asking how there day was going and thanking them from coming to eat. The guy was sweating bullets but out there getting it done. It was very impressive.

It’s astonishing to me that other fast food restaurants don’t even try to mimic chic fil a’s service. Burger King prides itself on hiring the applicants rejected by McDonalds and Popeyes only hires people who hate working at Popeyes.
