If they'll have it I am donating my body to Georgetown University Hospital to be a medical cadaver.
When they are done with me they will cremate my remains and give it to my family or put me in the Mt. Olivet cemetery columbarium in D.C. No need to take up space with a grave.

Cremation for me.
It's weird to me how the Catholic Church frowns upon spreading one's ashes in a beautiful setting but supports the grotesqueries of the embalming and burial process. Which process is more dignified of the human body?

Nobody is going to listen to me, but I want to be cremated. I don't care what happens to my ashes. I don't see the point of spending a ton of money to bury my embalmed body in a hole in the ground.

But, I remember when my Dad passed, the funeral home director took us into his casket showroom and made sure to softly point out the nice steel casket for 15k that was positioned to where it's the first thing you saw when entering.
They are certainly vultures that are trained to present themselves as sympathetic.

I will be buried at sea. I believe the new CVN-79 would be an excellent choice to accommodate my wishes.

Gen. 3:19 "For dust you are and dust you will return." You are quite literally returning to dust with cremation, the same thing that would happen to you in a casket, just faster.
Jewish people believe in burial within 24 hours and the body should be intact. Meaning, if a person was killed in an explosion, they attempt to gather all of the body, even sopping up as much blood as possible. This makes the World War cremation of Jews a direct offense to their deeply held beliefs regarding burial. They do not embalm the dead. They do not view the body, and they keep shiva (a 7 day mourning period) after, while covering mirrors in the home.

I've always been opposed to cremation because burning is one of my biggest fears. But now that I think about the tie I feel to my parents graves and the stress it brings that I don't get back home often enough to see them - I'm starting to rethink if I want my kids to have that physical pull to a place when I'm really not there. Leaning towards cremation now.

My stepmom died a few weeks ago. Per her wishes she wanted cremation and that’s it.
No visitation service, memorial, or anything. Went with my Dad to make the arrangements. Cremation, urn, and 12 copies of death certificate was $950 out the door.
This is the way.
