What does any of that have to do with overall satisfaction with how a school is run? If you have a kid that is an A student, you shouldn't complain? What am I missing?

My point is that you would expect parents of successful, involved students to likely be satisfied with the school overall.

I believe these 2 teachers were put in a bad situation and may have handled it poorly out of fear. These 2 people are not criminals and probably dont deserve this

It is still very unclear what they did. We need more facts to determine level of fault.

Im going to take a wild guess...

Two divorced parents squabbling over their own kids made accusations aimed at the other parent, their divorced spouse, etc

Then they expected the school admins to side with one or the other, and then small-town politics took over and the principals got blamed by the typical small-town Nazis who sided with the other side

As another person said, mandatory reporting is really a no win situation. A few years ago, a kid came to school, met with the AP, and told him that his father beat him. Kid showed the AP some marks on his body. AP was forced to report it to DCFS.

Turns out the kid was just mad because his parents weren’t letting him do whatever he wanted. DCFS visited the home, and the parents were pissed, but they directed all their anger toward the school and the AP who made the report (mandatory) specifically.

It was actually a good family who was extremely embarrassed about being reported for what they considered disciplining their child and vented on the school.

With liability being the way it is today, on top of low pay, dealing with undisciplinable kids and parents who think their kids do no wrong, I don't understand why anybody would get involved in teaching.

Yet this board will tell you they don’t deserve higher pay.

I’ve read negative things about that school. But, yes. With all of the building, they’ve ruined the schools. Private will make bank in the future. Congratulations, I guess.

I was public school admin for 15 years. We followed the law and called DCFS multiple times as mandatory reporters and nothing ever happened to the guilty parties. At that time, it was all a dog and pony show when calling DCFS.

I was a hs admin years ago. Had a student make an outcry as school was letting out for the day. She was going to go “take one from the stepdad” so he would leave her sister alone. Called child protective services and sat at the campus until after 9pm. CPS was more worried about having a family member come get the girls so that she could go home. It seemed more of a paycheck than a “calling” to help kids. At any rate a family member shows up and begins berating the young girl for sharing family business with the school. Even as shitty as the CPS investigator was if we wouldn’t have reported it they would have crucified us as administrators.

Think of being a policeman, dealing with these exact same issues when these little shits turn into teens/adults…

Innocent until proven guilty.

But if they broke laws they are criminals. That's how it works.

You are totally making this up. Unless I have missed something there has been zero details about this. Just a report that they were investigated by Covington Police and were arrested for failing to report as required by law.

I won't have a opinion one way or another until more info is released.
