CDC

quote:

It typically takes a few weeks for the body to produce T-lymphocytes and B-lymphocytes after vaccination. Therefore, it is possible that a person could be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 just before or just after vaccination and then get sick because the vaccine did not have enough time to provide protection.

CDC re mask after vaccine

quote:

Yes. While experts learn more about the protection that COVID-19 vaccines provide under real-life conditions, it will be important for everyone to continue using all the tools available to us to help stop this pandemic, like covering your mouth and nose with a mask, washing hands often, and staying at least 6 feet away from others. Together, COVID-19 vaccination and following CDC’s recommendations for how to protect yourself and others will offer the best protection from getting and spreading COVID-19. Experts need to understand more about the protection that COVID-19 vaccines provide before deciding to change recommendations on steps everyone should take to slow the spread of the virus that causes COVID-19. Other factors, including how many people get vaccinated and how the virus is spreading in communities, will also affect this decision.

At 60, OP doesn’t have to worry about knocking up the wife up, where the vaccine apparently causes infertility concerns. Probably a good candidate at that age.

Friend,

As with other vaccines, like the flu vaccine, there is a period of time of about two weeks, where you are still susceptible to the virus after receiving the vaccine. It takes time to mount an immune response. That is nothing like saying the CDC says the vaccine does not work.

I'd probably take it given your health and age. Just my opinion. I'm not a medical professional.

I concur!

One doctor said they learn in medical school is never take a drug or vaccine unless its been on the market 5 years. I dont think we will take it for the time being.

Well that’s some BS lies, because everyone started using xarelto or eliquis instead of Coumadin and new anti-depressants just for example once they came to market

1. I would definitely come to the OT for medical advice.

2. Saying you're healthy "other than emphysema" is like saying you're healthy other than your stage 4 cancer.

Who is saying that? Other than Tigerdroppings I have not heard anyone.

Take it. Emphysema is NOT healthy especially with a virus that drops your blood oxygen levels.

I never said it didn’t work
I was providing the information from the CDC that shows the vaccine does not prevent spread or infection

Some people consider the fact that they still have to wear a mask as it not working
I am not trying to change anyone’s opinion or tell them what to think or that they are wrong

This is very misleading

No vaccine prevents infection in the terms you are using. A vaccine cannot prevent a virus from entering you body

What this vaccine does so is stop the colloquial term of infection for 95% of takers, and prevents severe cases for 100%

So OP it's a two part series. You took the 1st, take the second. I'm sure there are people out there that want both. Jackass.

I'm going to talk to my Pcp tomorrow or next and my pulmonary doctor and see what they say. I probably should take a pneumonia shot at the least. Seems thats what kills a lot of folks with this.
