I got married last year. Wife doesn't work (she's in school), I didn't bother changing my status, so I was still getting cut like I was single and ended up receiving a rather large income tax refund. Also, being that she's in school I can get a 20 percent credit for all tuition paid. So, while she's costing me in other areas (
) I actually make out well in the tax situation.

Not to sound like a Nazi, but we are getting to the point in history where the discrepancy in birth rate between the lower and upper classes is exploding. (And by upper classes, I mean people of means... educated and/or gainfully employed... with fathers in the house to teach life lessons.) The only people reproducing are the dumbasses.
Yet another reason why this country (and world) is in steep decline. Beneficial personal, cultural and societal traits are passed down generationally.
You like your life? You think you're hip and cool fun-loving and don't want to be tied down with kids? Enjoy. Enjoy your contribution to the decline and extinction of civilization.

I am not a real big fan of civilization, from a macro level, so I am cool with this.
And honestly we are so fricked. frickED. It doesn't matter that I am not having kids, what matters is people outside of the US have 3, 4 or 5 kids. That is where the toll will come in.
Even if I had a kid, it would just be one. How is that going to stop the crush of stupid people having lots of kids? it won't.

lol! Kids are definitely something that if you don't feel you are ready for, you shouldn't do it. I've got no problem with couples that choose not to have kids and see no reason why anyone would have a problem with their choice.

<---- not married and no kids. No regrets. I have two nieces and a nephew and I will be holding a sizeable inheritance over their heads just to make sure that I'm taken care of in my old age.

same here.
I am set to retire at 55, and am giving several thousand to each niece/nephew for college. I figure if I say - you can be the sole heir to the hawkeye forturne if you visit me every week, one of them will gladly comply. I can already guess which.
