Costco Gas Who is Entitled?

When getting gas at Costco I view it like playing ready golf. This means I am paying attention to whats going on in front of me not looking at my phone and moving up in line as soon as possible. I have my Costco card ready and in hand before I pull up to the pump along with my credit card or phone ready to tap for payment. I get out a move quickly to pump and when finished move just as quickly so the next person can get to the pump. I see it as respect for those in line behind me.
Today when I pulled in there were 2 cars at the pump and 1 more car behind and then me. The line to the left of me had 2 cars at the pump and 2 waiting behind. The line to left moved faster and the 2 cars pulled away at the same time. The next car moved up to the front pump leaving the rear pump open and a huge gap. The woman in the 4th car had her face staring at her phone and I looked over 3 times and waiting a good 40 seconds and then pulled into the open pump spot. I was already out of my truck and pumping before she noticed the line had moved. I told the 2 people at the pumps closet to me that I was unsure if what I did was right or not. They both seamed to think I was wrong. One said it seamed entitled. My response was who is entitled the one on their phone not paying attention holding up the line behind her or the one that took the opportunity at the open pump.
I ask the OT what do y’all do in this situation? Who is entitled? Please do not hold back.
Thanks

I wouldn't pay much attention to someone sewing while at the gas pumps.

A courtesy honk would have helped.

Are you 12? Why are you running around to strangers both in person and online for validation?
The fact that the in person folks both think you were an arse makes me think you are leaving details out or changing them to make you look better.

This was your mistake. You should have known what would happen if you talked to them. Just get your gas and move on. I would have done the same thing. I just wouldn’t have asked for anyone’s opinion

I’d bet my house the “40 seconds” was more like 15 if nothing else.

Wait your turn you douche.
Skipping ahead does nothing but gumming up the works and ultimately creates a hazard for people pumping on the side of their cars and impatient arseholes skipping the queue and trying to get around and crowding them and/or accidentally ultimately clipping them with their car.
This is why we can't have nice things....

Get the tampon out of your vag!
I lived through the oil shocks of the 70's and when the line is 1/2 mile down the road come back and tell me about being 2 cars behind the pump.

Know how I know you are collecting Social Security checks now?
That is some pre 1980's (the start of the entitlement / narcissist Age in Merica) thinking right there.

Treat the gas station like a urinal. Watch your business and don't talk to anyone.

I’d bet everything I have that you are a white male.
Be that as it may, yeah you should have tooted your horn, got her attention, and let the lady go fill up. Dick.

Honestly, it took longer to read this post than to get gas at Costgo.

Costco gas is supposed to be Top Tier. But my car gets consistently better gas milage using Chevron, Exxon, or Shell. Four to five miles per gallon better with pretty much the same mix of highway and stop and city driving.
