Most corporate meetings are completely useless and could be handled through email. People just like talking and wasting time.

Bingo!!!! That scenario goes way beyond the business world. Personal responsibility is a real thing and if more people had it the world would be a better place.

At my first adult job we had half of our department over in Silicon Valley while we were on Florida. I enjoyed the 1pm meeting BECAUSE they stretched closer to an hour. With a 3 hour time zone difference, having to get everybody together took awhile. When we were dodging hurricanes by spending the work week in CA they took all of 20 minutes.

I now realize you’re a troll, what a shite post, because no executive would ever be that emotional in combat.

Speaking from experience.

How old are you, 23?

Giving any extra time for others to join is millenial or gen whatever shite. We are taught to show up early or you are late

I miss the days before they knew what number was talking. Used to always get either music from one phone or porn sounds from another. And they had no idea who it was.

Now they know callers and who is speaking so all the fun is gone. And they can mute all phones and turn on as needed.

I hate late arrivers who disrupt and thusly extend meeting. And someone showing graphics that look like shite. And others who talk like they’re using a teleprompter in front of thousands of people with no breaks or emotion.

As a rule, all key info is presented after first 10 minutes. The rest is just fluff.

Showing a clip from a sitcom or a funny tik tok or comedy and trying to fold the clip into some message or trying to “lighten the mood”

Nobody wants to see that shite, just spew your word vomit and shut the frick up so I can get back to doing the job that you clearly have no idea to do because if you did you would have sent a fricking email instead wasting my time.

scheduling a meeting every 30 minute block of every day because you can't function independently enough to do your job without input or validation.

I love a good pre-meeting to discuss the meeting. We don't have much bandwidth & can't afford information being siloed. And it's better if we do this sync offline (but wouldn't this be siloed info?). And we need to create a Teams channel that everyone can see, but only gives access to us. Don't worry, I'll grab that for action.

People don't pay attention to body language. When they start wiping the table with their hand, they're not paying attention. When they have closed their notebook and put their hand on it? They've checked out. It's over, end it.

I have to run a couple of these things & try to have items in order prior to prevent items from going awry. Stay on the schedule. Instead of an hour for a meeting, I try to schedule 45 mins. I'm convinced that people love to be in multiple meetings, then come into the next one with their "sorry, I was busy in another meeting" schtick. Go frick yourself, you're not that important.

Truly, I tell you I am the nicest person on every call these days.

Nothing upsets me about people
like it used to back when I was younger.

I guess it's because I'm always sitting at a restaurant or driving or maybe at the office when I'm on the call.

Most of them are useless. Meetings should be for decisions, not discussions amongst a bunch of minions.
