suppose you're just SOL for flights if that happens.

If we could get the entire country to just take two weeks off, shutdown travel and stay in their homes.....just two measly weeks.....I bet we could halt it.
Why would that halt it?

Dreamy.
Hoping to do Canada this year with a backup of Mexico in the stadium. Mexico always looks like a wild party.
5 year plan involves Monaco with a bunch of Fin's that used to race with Jos Verstappen. One of my guys at work said he will get me in.

Oh and Ultra Music Festival in Miami just cancelled. Was scheduled to start on the 20th.
I wouldn’t doubt if SXSW and JazzFest announce similar in the near future.
Jazz fest will hold as long as possible, as realistically it probably wouldn’t receive insurance on the cancel if it happened now...
But given the older demographics I’d be real worried about them being able to actually put it on. Attendance will be a train wreck. Without a major turn I bet about April 1 we see real chatter about cancels

The price I heard makes it a once in a lifetime trip, I don't know how that experience can disappoint. I've already started training to drink with the Finnish guys.
Fyi, not sure if you check the MSB, but there is a small F1 following there.
Trying to get a NOLA bar to open for all rhe F1 races.

I just Googled actually. I'm flying American.

No change fee on flights ticketed by March 16
Book a new trip March 1 - March 16, 2020 and there is no change fee if your travel plans change. Changes must be made 14 days before your original departure date and other terms apply.
Doesn't look like free cancellations are allowed right now though, unless its to somewhere on the list which is all international spots.
This is good though because if my thing is canceled, I'll likely already be in the city so I'll just need a change to get home earlier.
EDIT - I think they mean changes must be made 14 days or less before your departure. Not 2+ weeks in advance. Worded weird on their site, but the article describes it better.

We have a flight through seattle at the end of June. I hate to cancel now in case this all dies down. But if it continues forward progress I may want to. Flight there is with Alaska Airlines and flight home is credit card points (this part is insured if a pandemic is declared). I never cancel trips so this is a whole new world to me.
Just googled: Alaska is allowing free changes for tickets purchased Feb 1616-March for travel dates through June. So I am screwed because I purchased in January for my June travel date. Assholes.

There are millions of people here in Seattle but don't be scared. Everyone should take personal care but life is normal.
Though it seems overblown, me going to Thailand next week feels like I'm getting away from it going there.

If you really want to cancel, talk to someone at the company.
I’d bet that goes further than just getting angry and complaining to us.

That would honestly be the best news we have heard in weeks.
100,000 infections and only a handful of deaths would make it about as bad as the flu

Glad I could help. If I can help make someone feel better, at least I've done something.
If I see something else from him posted, I'll bring it here too. He seems pretty on the ball.

Serious question. If you have to travel for work within the states, would you cancel air travel in favor of driving? I have a trip scheduled for next week and am thinking I might just drive to avoid people on a plane.
ETA: I’ve already flown 12 legs this year, with the last two coming last week. I don’t mind the inconvenience on this trip and could make all trips driveable until June if needed to watch how this plays out.

I mean, maybe if your travel is to Houston? I'm not driving to California
