You're seem more comfortable with pictures, but if you ever feel capable of disagreeing with words, I'll be glad to discuss.

All data is showing that this doesn’t effect young children severely. No toddlers died in the data released by China.
That is what my wife has read from Chinese language sources.

You reach these 2 conclusions based on what?

Based on the fact that we've only tested 426 patients since this started, as of today. That means we have tested a handful of people who had exposure history and practically nobody else. I guess you could add "cost", to the excuse list, but what we've done so far is trivial compared to our bloated annual US healthcare expenses. Somehow places like Italy and South Korea are able to afford a lot more than 426 tests.
This must be official CDC policy, since they control the testing as of now, but they might as well stop releasing case numbers because they have no meaningful data to show how many cases or deaths there are in the US. Even if there were thousands of Covid-19 infections right now and dozens of deaths, with no testing to make the diagnosis they'd fade into the normal variance of influenza numbers. I hope they have a good handle on how contagious and virulent this virus is, because we're proceeding blindfolded.

Why Numbers Are So Good In USA

There have been less that a thousand tests in the US. Numbers are undoubtedly higher than reported in every country, if nothing else, because no one has the capacity to know and test everyone who has been in contact with an infected.

HIV works in a completely different way than this virus. It has lag time because it infects and destroys your body’s natural defenses (immune system), then you die of a common infection because your immune system can’t fight it.
quote:I get that too.
It’s relative lack of contagiousness compared to something like coronavirus is due to its mode of transmission. Blood (HIV) vs airborne (coronavirus)
This line of conversation began when someone said to imagine a virus that takes as long to kill the host as HIV, yet is as easily spread as this coronavirus. From my little bit of Google research (
In other words, symptoms correlate with both death and infectiousness, right? So is it even possible for a worst-case virus to exist? One that causes a person to be highly infectious while exhibiting little to no symptoms, only to cause death months to years down the road?

I didn't realize that China stopped allowing tourists to visit Taiwan due to their January elections and their support of the Hong Kong protests. In part, that helps to explain why Taiwan only has 30 coronavirus cases and a single death.

If this was referrring to any other country, folks would be accusing them of a coverrup, or of having such a broken down health care system that they couldn't afford to test. When the US runs a handful of tests in the face of a potential global pandemic, they say it's because we're so much more advanced in our understanding of disease we don't need to do definitive testing. At this point it seems more likely that someone has decided we might be better off not actually knowing how many undiagnosed cases of Covid-19 there are in this country. Just let them go undiagnosed and hope they fade into the flu data without making much of a blip. Do a few hundred tests and tell everyone we're on top of the situation. Like they say, ignorance is bliss.
What exactly are you saying....there is a cover up? Or that we should be going door to door demanding people submit to tests.
I’m just confused as what your stance is here, you really think if there was a conspiracy for a coverup the doctor or doctors wouldn’t blow the doors off to the media. If you think in this political climate every doctor, or whoever for that matter, would sit back and agree to not test for CV and pass up the chance to ruin this admin you’ve lost your mind.

I love you Qer tin foil fools that sit back and assume government conspiracy, new world order, etc on everything. If anyone disagrees with your enlightened brilliance, it’s because they are blind sheep/fools even though all of your shite is parroted from a circle jerk.
And yet, here you are trying to have your cake and eat it too. Even if you want to assume it’s already here, you can’t both attribute the effect of its presence as being indiscernible from the frequency and severity of flu, AND of it being a highly contagious and virulent virus worthy of attention and subsequent coverup.
You need more facts to paint a picture than just “government lies”
On and when I said love.....I meant loathe.

I quit trusting the Federal Government after Katrina. I think I’ll listen to a few retired Doctors about this and form my own opinion. What they are telling me is not exactly good.

Do you understand that doctors act independently? No one is telling all doctors to not test for coronavirus. Don’t you think a US doctor would want to know if the patient he or she is treating is infectious before they take it home to their family? This would have to be a massive conspiracy by every US doctor. For what gain? The stock market

Yes absolutely. You could have an airborne HIV. Of course now we can manage the virus to some extent with antivirals but imagine before antivirals came out.

Highlights from Twitter...
Iran's deputy health minister has tested positive for coronavirus. Likely this must be much more widespread in Iran than reported (they might not even know the true extent ) based on the total number of deaths reported.
A case has popped up in Sicily - the first case in southern Italy.
Here is a firsthand Chinese account from an older woman who was sick with the coronavirus. She said her husband didn't make it, and they put him in a plastic bag while he was still alive. And she saw others that were in critical condition sent to be incinerated before they had died. Obviously I can't confirm the translation, but that was the English translation.

We have that already.
It’s called tuberculosis
Posted on 2/25/20 at 6:14 am to Volvagia
Yea TB is a good call. Not nearly as deadly since we have treatments now. There was some speculation that Ebola could go airborne but the series of mutations required makes that EXTREMELY unlikely. Now if someone is “experimenting” with it, that could definitely be a possibility. Although Ebola doesn’t kill slowly.

My lone anti-vax friend on FB is saying high doses of Vitamin C are curing people. She is super crazy and rages about tamiflu all the time.

So, you believe there's one Oz Behind the Curtain person who is making decisions for every hospital and medical clinic in the country? And telling them not to test for a particular infectious disease?
This is why we think you conspiracy theorists are ignorant. Because you are.
