I love how this is getting downvotes when every one of those words actually came out of his mouth or was typed out in a tweet.

In my latest DearFacebook post, just had a Karen tell me the reason they didn’t recommend masks earlier was only because they were saving them for medical personnel use.

That's actually true... Which makes you question anything these scientists say.

So you will lie and say that masks don't work in order to stop hoarding of them so the medical professionals on the front lines have access, but now want to say they work because they are easily available.

How about a big frick You. Facts are only facts when they are convenient for the messenger.

Is the WHO report that there is no evidence of immunity being taken out of context. I read the report as there is no evidence right now but we aren’t saying there is no immunity we just need a study.

Media is running with it as there is no immunity. WHO seemed to release this to dissuade countries from doing immunity passports.

A technique that zaps airborne viruses with a narrow-wavelength band of UV light shows promise for curtailing the person-to-person spread of COVID-19 in indoor public places.

The technology, developed by Columbia University’s Center for Radiological Research, uses lamps that emit continuous, low doses of a particular wavelength of ultraviolent light, known as far-UVC, which can kill viruses and bacteria without harming human skin, eyes and other tissues, as is the problem with conventional UV light.

“Far-UVC light has the potential to be a ‘game changer,’” said David Brenner, professor of radiation biophysics and director of the center. “It can be safely used in occupied public spaces, and it kills pathogens in the air before we can breathe them in.”

If this works, it could really be a big part in enabling sports like the NBA to eventually resume and allowing fans to watch.

Is this the same WHO that said there was no evidence of human to human contagion? I'll take my guidance on this issue from someone else if that is ok.

Looks like OLOL’s numbers are trending considerably downward

Yeah, only 372 new cases today in Louisiana. That's the lowest number since March 29, and it's a good sign that Gov. Edwards will announce next week that some businesses will be able to reopen.

To be fair.....it isn’t like this wasn’t explicitly said back then as well.

( along with masks not “helping”)

Tiger91 and others that work in/around nursing homes, thank you

My mom has late stage dimentia and her home has set up chairs outside her window, opened the windows and made it as easy as possible to "talk" with her during this mess.

She is now very near her end and they called and said we can come in. Of course we all have to wear masks. They literally spray us with something that is not bourbon, and they bring us in exit doors to avoid interacting with other patients. Even though this is a pain in the arse, they do it with a smile.

I've heard horror stories about poor care at nursing homes, but my experience with hers, especially today, was perfect.

Thank you for what you do.

ETA: Fist bump to Hospice.

I'm glad that your experience although sad has been a positive one. And YES Hospice is typically a great thing. I'm glad that you were able to have that service -- they do good work.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom -- dementia is hard and combine it with this crap it's a nightmare.

I pray that your mom is comfortable and you/your family are at peace. Blessings to you all.

It was at least a half lie. They admitted that it was more important for the medical people to have masks. They shouldn't have added that masks aren't helpful for the general population but that was a transparent lie.

Every expert expects there to be some period of immunity. Faulty testing probably accounts for the anecdotal reports.
