Sad but somewhat reassuring news:
Wuhan virus killing mostly the elderly, those with previous health problems

It's showing a lower number of fatalities (17) but maybe it's holding true still.

quote:

Almost half of the 17 people killed by the Wuhan coronavirus so far were aged 80 or over and most of them had pre-existing health problems, according to China’s health authorities. Children have been infected, but are not highly susceptible to the virus, they said.
Details of the fatalities released on Thursday showed the youngest person was 48 and the oldest 89.

It has possibly made its way to Middle Tennessee.

Tennessee Tech student being tested for Coronavirus

quote:

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Tennessee Department of Health says a Tennessee Tech student is being tested for the Coronavirus.

The student had "very mild symptoms" and had a recent travel history that met the criteria to test for the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV), according to university officials.
School officials say health providers quickly recognized that the patient met the testing criteria and are awaiting the results. In the meantime, the student is being kept isolated and nothing has been confirmed.

School officials say they're continuing to communicate with Cookeville Regional Medical Center, the Tennessee Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control in regards to the student's health.

State health officials say Tennesseans do not need to take any action as of yet. They say anyone with concerns about his or her health should contact their medical provider.

Few other things aren't congruent with the "story" either.

And too convenient of a time...right at Chinese new year, right in the middle of trump trials..

I don't believe anything is actually happening except a larger than normal flu season worldwide. Hell I just got over the flu myself.

Videos have shown armed PLA troops in protective gear at Wuhan and there are rumors circulating that the Chinese government may soon shut down the internet there.

Also temperature checks at airports may not be catching all the sick. New symptoms are showing up:

Wuhan doctors cited in Chinese media reports now say that fever, fatigue and cough are now not the only first signs of coronavirus infection.

Other symptoms include - nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headaches, chest tightness, muscle soreness and even conjunctivitis.

I mean, those odds aren't awful, especially considering most of the deaths are poor chinese who likely aren't bastions of health or have hygiene items/proper nutrition to sustain them through this.
