This seems pretty reckless just to taze an 11 year old girl with little to no warning. What if she was pregnant?

I would imagine if her parents had told her not to steal, and it was bad when she was younger, maybe it wouldn't have happened?

Lol come on you know there is a difference between a grown person and an 11 year old girl.

That’s what choke holds are for.

Wish they'd use tasers on some of the girls in middle school who mess with each other.
They are mean to little boys and absolutely vicious to other little girls. Glad to be past it.

Obviously wasn't a black girl or there'd be pictures of her at kindergarten graduation and family outcry. Therefore, no care.
Actually, though, I wonder if she was being a tee total brat. Regardless, I'd suspect that a taser is overkill without some crazy facts we don't know about.

I've been tased a few times, it sucks, but its over right away.

A grown adult man used a taser on an 11 year old girl. That’s pretty fricking stupid. You people really don’t have to side with cops on every single story.
They get off on authoritarian figures harming people. That cop would be in the hospital if he did that to my kid.

Cincinnati police policy permits taser use on children as young as 7 years old.
What kind of fricked up people came up with that kind of rule?

Lol what do you think the media isn’t reporting. It’s a fricking 11 year old little girl. Short of having a gun or a knife there is absolutely zero reason to use a taser

She’s 11, you don’t have to super slam her to detain her either. Holy frick you people hate the government half the time but love y’all a good ol police state

I teach that age, and it’s just relentless drama with the girls. Some of the things that they do to each other are just unbelievably mean. This is usually between girls who claim to be friends, too.

So which society do you want to live in? The one where the police do nothing or the one where they enforce the law?
If those are the only tools our LEO have to deal with 11 year old girls I think we have big problems.
That said I would also like to see more info about what happened before claiming the officer is in the wrong.

Heres a longer version of the article.
Two items stand out:
1)She was indeed stealing. Not sure if that justifies the taser, but she was comitting a crime.
2)The officer neglected to turn on his bodycam, contrary to dept rules. If he was justified in tasing her thats not going to help his case.
Better article

It is unclear if the incident was caught on surveillance cameras. Police officials said Brown was wearing a body camera but did not activate the camera until after the Taser was used.
The department's policy on body cameras states officers are required to activate the devices during all law enforcement-related encounters, but also says under extenuating circumstances, using the cameras may not be possible.

If medical professionals say there isn't extra risk due to age, I have no problem with this.
