I teach that age, and it’s just relentless drama with the girls. Some of the things that they do to each other are just unbelievably mean.

Yeah, pre-teens can be brutal to each other. But hang in there because before you know it, they will be 15, more mature and totally worth that student/teacher bang.

If those are the only tools our LEO have to deal with 11 year old girls I think we have big problems.

Maybe you should consider the big problem being the fact that this girl was shoplifting in the first place. Kids that steal with impunity only have one outcome in life. Let there asses ride the lightning, parents should get tased too.

Cincinnati may be worse than Cleveland and that’s a tall order. Ohio on the whole is pretty much trash.

I totally agree. Unless they posed a threat to someone else, however, I have trouble justifying the tasing.

That doesnt mean I dont think shr should have been detained, though. Do you really believe this was the only way to subdue her?

Kids act out at that age. There isn't just one outcome for people who commit a minor crime when they are young. This is so fricking stupid that I find it hard to believe that even the OT is this stupid, and that's hard to do.

Go spend some time on Youtube. You'll see exactly how violent these kids can get. Safer for them and the officer as a whole. Tasers are a compliance tool.

I love that you say something like this with no details of the story.

What details are you thinking were left out? That she was carrying an AR-15 with a live pit bull mounted under the barrel?

That she was only 11, but was already 6'2" 260Lbs?

Ah yes another (most likely conservative) okay with the government being the judge, jury, and executioner of an 11 year old girl.

Yes I’m sure an 11 year old girl is super violent and poses an immediate threat to a grown adult male. How can you possibly be this stupid

Maybe she was hungry, parents on the dope. Could have been her only meal in days or she could have been just stealing for the hell of it.

If my daughter gets caught shoplifting and walks away from a cop, I'll Snapchat the tazing to all of her friends.

I am sure there will be.

That's not how this works. It must be investigated for months, sometimes years before any kind of answer can be forthcoming.

I like how you don't quote the part where it said she was arrested.

So which society do you want to live in? The one where the police do nothing or the one where they enforce the law?

The one where they use proper, incremental escalating force in response to the situation.

Obviously we don't know all the details of this but if the girl turned and walked away and his first response was to just pull out the taser and shock her then that was incorrect use of force as far as I'm concerned.

My first response would have been to grab her wrist and try to turn her around and either continue my investigation or place her in handcuffs. If she resisted physically in a defensive action like curling up or pulling her hands into her body then I would just continue to try to wrestle her hands-free until I could get the cuffs on them. If she resisted by striking, kicking, biting, spitting, Etc, then I would have utilize the taser. If she would have resisted by drawing a firearm or other instantly deployable deadly weapon then and only then would I have drawn my firearm and attempted to neutralize the threat.

It seems that for many law enforcement agents the first response to any resistance at all is to jump from 0 to 60 in an instant. If an officer is that impatient or fearful he's a danger to the public and a liability to his department and doesn't belong in uniform.

. Go against that policy and something goes wrong then you can be left hanging in the wind with no support.
you mean like when they get two weeks off with paid leave? You mean getting left hanging like that? Bc yeah I'll be tasing kids every two weeks then.

Somebody was executed?

Seems to me the girl was suspected of a crime and instead of obeying and being detained, she decided to try and leave the scene.

I bet you would have no problem with randoms using a taser against your kid, right?
