Wish they'd use tasers on some of the girls in middle school who mess with each other. Any of y'all with kids that age can relate.

Same thing could be said about new orleans though.

Pretty extreme IMO for a little girl. They should've taken her in, had her parents pay for whatever she stole and then the parents would beat the crap out of her instead.

My brother went to school in Cyprus and thought he'd be funny by trying to steal a Zippo lighter from a sidewalk store. The dude put his fist down his throat and beat the shite out of him right in the middle of the store.

And it was deserved.

Herein lies the rub. As I have said on the OT before:

Police are faced with tough decisions these days -

1. Do nothing. See a crime, ask politely for the criminal to comply and then when the criminal resists, runs away or tells them to frick off the police just shrug their shoulders and leave.

2. Use a Taser or other non-lethal means to force the person to comply but face certain criticism for use of force.

3. Use hands on physical force and most likely end up bruising or bloodying the criminal and then face certain public condemnation and lawsuits. Despite what people think, once you lay hands on someone the fight is on. If they choose to fight back, you can't just calmly disengage and back off. Once you lock up with someone, one party or the other is going to win the fight. See Alton Sterling for a prime example.


So which society do you want to live in? The one where the police do nothing or the one where they enforce the law?

There is more risk to injury of the 11 year old girl if the grown man were to grab her and try to physically restrain her. Also if policy dictates you deploy a taser before going hands on, then you better do it. Go against that policy and something goes wrong then you can be left hanging in the wind with no support.
