That is a really big jump though to assume some permanent disability would happen.

There have been over 1000 taser deaths... I'm not sure how far back we'd have to go for billy club or collapsible asp beatings to hit 1000 deaths via leo.

I'd like to see before I just immediately say the cop is in the wrong.

I have no idea why people cant seperate these two facts 1. The girl needs to be disciplined. She is a little shite and heading down a dark path 2. The cop is a complete worthless uniform if he cant subdue and 11 year old girl without using a taser

Because it is one incident, set into motion by her actions. Did her mother just wail about her daughter being tased or did she apologize to everybody that shops there that has to pay higher prices?

They have to pay higher prices because her little pirate was conducting daily raids of candy and snacks. Her backpack was full and it was not the first time. Everybody suffers for her lack of parenting.

So where do you draw the line on the 11 year old stealing before his #2 point comes into play for you? Clearly tasing her doesn't move the needle. What if he punched her? Kicked her? Knocked her unconscious?

Those aren't rhetorical questions by the way, if tasing an 11 year old girl who, from what it seems so far, had no deadly weapon nor was she running from the cop, doesn't do it for you, how far does it have to be pushed out before you think the cops actions would be too aggressive?

People have been killed or permanently injured by tasers, and not just the very young and elderly. This is a bigger deal and risk than you are making it. It's a risk any time devices like this are used that they will be deployed incorrectly and cause severe harm. It can be a better alternative, but that isn't nearly the situation here. It's risk this guy took over a crime of a few dollars that's only a misdemeanor from an 11 year old child who isn't a threat to anyone who could have otherwise been easily detained without causing harm to anyone. You are plain stupid stupid stupid or a horrible person if you don't see an issue here, and it's disturbing that people like you are walking around.

She's harming the people she is stealing or has stolen from. Cops are told tasers are suitable to use on children. So maybe your anger should be placed elsewhere.

I love watching people get tased on cops.

Obviously the girl stole a bunch of shite. I love how the news leaves this out of the story. That's a pretty important piece of information.

Fat-arse mom tryna get paid.

"That could have been a gun."

It could have been a banana too.

I love how the mom is more mad that her kid got tased and not mad at all that she stole from the grocery store. If that's my kid I add another whoopin' on top of the tasing.

They get off on authoritarian figures harming people. That cop would be in the hospital if he did that to my kid.

None of the speculation is really pertinent. It was wrong but it happened. Nothing will happen to the cop because he was working within policy. The policy will be changed.

Here's what should happen. She stole. Her parents should be tased, kicked and punched for neglecting to teach her not to steal. I guarantee the parents that don't parent will start caring what their little princess is up to.

Once again, if she did not break the law we do not hear about any of this.

Perhaps you could elaborate on some situations in which you think its acceptable to use a taser on children?

I would guess that 11 years old was close to 200 pounds, just a guess.
