Dude you said no matter what age committing a crime you are ok with a cop using a taser

So kids rolling a house or playing "ding dong ditch" at 10 years old deserve 1,200 volts when running from the cops correct?

Like probably most here, I ran from cops when high school parties got broken up (I realize I am talking high school and not 11) but would not nor would my family had gone to the media if I got tased doing something I was not supposed to do. Again, I didn't say tasing the 11 year old was the correct move to make but at the same time if she was trying to escape, I don't feel bad for her. As mentioned before if the officer tackled or maced the girl if she tried to run and injured her, we would be in the exact same place as here. There is no winable situation for the officer if she tries to escape and he catches her with any other form too.

Us people just understand that 99% of these instances have been proven to be completely misconstrued by the media.

Do you still stick to that 99% number even after the department comes out and says how troubling the video was and they'll have to review their policies?

Yea, it would be really wild in this day and age that a department made a cover your arse statement just to calm people down.

And looking at the police report that lists shoplifiting and obstruction of justice as the official charges by the cop who tasered the 11 year old?

Ah yes the big bad Cincinnati media is out to get you

Not everything today is a big bad cover up by the media. Why is it so hard for some of you to believe that there are some absolute piece of shite cops out there?

So you agree that when departments come out and make a statement like that, 99% of the time the officer is still found to have followed protocols?

Brah you wouldn't do shite. That cop would empty his clip in you and everyone on this bo
I've learned to never doubt what another man says he would do.

The same thing someone like you would have said about Gavin Long or Micah Johnson before they killed 8 plus Cops in Dallas / B.R shootings........ Easy for people like you to say when you're not an actual Cop who's at risk of getting lumped in with these type Officers.

This probably won't make anyone go hurt a cop ,but it definitely feeds into a narrative about cops and builds resentment towards them.

So in your mind you think the only options to detain an 11 year old girl are to taser her, mace her, or tackle her. Serious question. Do you have a diagnosed mental deficiency?

I'm not replying to any particular person, but I don't think a well meaning police department policy includes tasing an 11 year old girl for shoplifting.

Common sense tells me the use of a taser on a 7 year old is intended to stop the child from hurting themselves or others. I don't think that changes because the child is 11 instead of 7.

Retailers train their employees to allow the shoplifter to leave without resistance. They have insurance that covers the loss.

The cop did something stupid. He was over zealous in his use of the taser. Did she deserve it? She certainly deserves some type of punishment for her actions, but anyone who says they would support the police tasing their 11 year old child for shoplifting is just stupid. People have died from being tased and many more have sustained serious injuries. This is an 11 year old kid.

If she runs, how else do you expect to catch her? Just tell her to slow down? I get where people are upset because she is 11 and I've even agreed that a taser was not the right option. Attempting to flee police is NEVER the right answer though. As far as I am aware, there is no video of the actual incident out yet to show the distance the officer was from the girl, if she was actually attempting to run, etc. If she was just simply walking and he tasered her then he is absolutely in the wrong but if she was trying to get away hastily, I think his use of the stun gun is justified.

I don’t know if you know any 11 year old little girls but they’re not very fast. Grab her arm and handcuff her it’s really not that difficult. In fact since she’s 11 he has time to power on his body cam and then go after her wel because she’s 11 and not very fast

And if it wasn't that easy?

Well you don't have to worry about it not being easy because she's 11

By running?

If a copy can't outrun an 11 year old girl, he/she should not be a cop. But the fact that you acted like there was no other possible way for a cop to catch an 11 year old girl who is running but to tase her is pretty darn funny.

But also, back to this actual case, it does not appear that she ran, and yet she was still tased.

Why wouldn't it be easy to run faster than and overpower an 11 year old girl?

I stated other ways besides just tasing.

I'd like to see the video, as I'm sure everyone else would too, and if I am wrong I will gladly admit it but I am not immediately offended at this story just because she is 11.

There is no video because the cop did not follow protocol and did not turn on his body camera......
