You'll probably see the same up north through Missouri, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, Dakotas... idk about Colorado or Illinois but likely the same through the rural parts.

I've driven I-10 over about 80% of its length quite a few times. Not a great road.
The best road in America, IMO, is in Texas. I think it's Highway 283 or something like that. Seems to go NW up to I-40 from just outside of Fort Worth, iirc. Wide, smooth, goes through small towns, farmland, blue collar businesses, local businesses, Tractor Supply, Case dealerships, next to football fields and signs like 'State 7-man football champs', combined elementary and middle schools with playground visible from the road, various churches, etc. As you drive this road, you know it isn't all of America, but you feel like you're surrounded by one of the best parts of America.

This post is an example of how people draw general conclusions about things based on their own limited experiences.

To be fair his analysis of the I10 corridor through Lake Charles was spot on quite honestly.

Getting off the interstate allowed us to see the best parts of America . Its in pretty good shape
I disagree America is in good shape. I would argue its at it lowest point with the skyrocketing cost of life's necessities that have so many people living paycheck to paycheck and it becoming obvious that the U.S. government has declared a cold war on its own citizens. Also these 10M illegals haven't yet spread out and infested a lot of communities off the beaten path. But I will agree that the more rural areas have done much better at maintaining their identity than the cities and metros. I know I've never been so thrilled to live in a small town, or "out in the sticks" as the city dwellers would call it as I am in 2024.

Drove through middle Virginia recently, avoiding most of the interstates. Lots of Trump signs in rural areas. No Biden signs anywhere. Guarded talk from many, but all saying they had had enough. Did not get near DC, which would be different.

OP obviously didn't look at a map before claiming this trip as "middle America" either, so not sure what we expected from his generalizations

I don’t think you visited “Middle America” baw

Went to Virginia recently, Richmond area to be exact. Went to the Civil War Museum. Very disappointed at the obvious slant to the whole museum was. Very nice artifacts but the films had a totally different spin on what I was expecting.

At least 50% of this post is made up, the other 50% is generalizations based on what OP wanted to see

Did you bypass all interstates? Tesla has charging stations every 50 miles at least on almost all areas of interstate.

I can drive around in New Orleans and not see a pride flag if I avoid the Quarter, Magazine and the Marigny.

I am not thrilled about the state of the US either, and think we are at a low point in my lifetime (either this or the great recession as I am in my mid-30's), but I would much rather be living through now than the Great Depression or Civil War.
