I think the biggest thing will be housing and how far of a commute your gig will require. Other than that I have no advice. Had a friend move from Houston to Dallas and is living in a suburb outside of town. Seems like he likes both places just fine.

A friend of mine moved there and married a millionaire. She is a neat lady. He only flies first class know. They took me out to a steakhouse when I went to visit. The area is definitely pretentious. Dated a Houston woman. The vibe there is definitely not the same. Dallas is closer to Shreveport. I would choose it.

I'm not arguing your overall point, but I don't think I would put these 2 phrases next to each other.

The Las Colinas area was great 15-20 years ago. Great access to DFW airport. Only 15 minutes to downtown. Haven’t been there in years but I know it was a booming area all those years ago.

Gun to head probably Houston. The whole metroplex is so big. Houston has tons of suburbs obviously but the whole area has always seemed kinda easier to navigate. Dallas is also way more prone to winter weather. I’ve been delayed a lot more at DFW than IAH over the years.

pros and cons of both cities.

Houston is home to the 2nd most LSU grads.
Food is better in Houston due to a lot of residents being from south Louisiana.
Houston set trends across the country.

Why is FW mentioned? He said Dallas or Houston

I've lived in both and pick Houston every time. Food is better too

In a thread comparing Houston and Dallas, your contribution is that Houston’s biggest problem is too many poor white people living “around it”? That’s your analysis?

What exactly qualifies someone as “white trash” in your expert demographic study? Low income? Bad clothes? A truck you don’t approve of?

Houston has plenty of legitimate flaws. You somehow landed on sneering at poor white people? I’ve love to hear you expand on this major problem Houston hasn’t realized yet.

Houston is about 45 minutes from being able to catch specks and flounders. Dallas is 4 hours plus.

Houston is a little over 6 hours from God’s Country, aka Grand Isle. Dallas is almost 9 hours.

And the overall food scene is better.

I pick Houston.

Not that high for me, but this is all a matter of personal taste and his statement is factually correct.

I've lived in houston for 30+ years. I can say I don't see a lot of poor white trash anywhere. If you live inside The Arrow, you are very wealthy white. If you live outside The Arrow, you are Mexican, Black, Muslim, Asian, African... but not poor white. Suburbs like Sugarland are majority-minority. Katy, which has more whites is staunchly middle class. Same for Kingwood.

I'm from Missouri, so maybe my poor white trash benchmark is too low.

(for those not familiar: The Arrow is a demographic shape on the map that encompasses Memorial, Tanglewood, River Oaks, West University Place, Up Town, decidedly the only white areas inside the 20 mile radius of FM1960 are quite wealthy. )
