Common complaint I heard from people my age during Xmas

“People my age” = past college, married or cohabitating, somewhere between getting ready to have kids and getting ready for a kid’s kindergarten graduation

That couple often “has” to go to four Christmases every year because their parents divorced long ago. One couple I know tries every year to travel for Christmas since it’s easier to travel to Cabo than to mom’s then dad’s then mom’s then dad’s. Also some people’s parents live in the middle of nowhere because everywhere they’ve moved was specifically to get away from blacks, and then they complain when their kids don’t want to schlepp out there on a whim. I want to ask these parents, who do you think you are?

Anybody in a tough situation for the holidays where they’re overextended because of things like this?


Ironic: a lot people don’t realize that they’re outing themselves as having active alters. I don’t have one.
