If tweet fails to load, click here. quote:
"Europe has savings. Unfortunately, these savings are "lazy". 10 trillion euros of household savings are still in bank deposits, and a significant part of European savings is invested outside our continent. Europe should now send them to the service of its enterprises," von der Leyen believes.
?????????: LINK
In other words, she wants to use peoples savings for VC investment directed by the politburo.

Simple Access: The EU encourages member states to create user-friendly investment accounts.
Tax Benefits: These accounts feature favorable tax rules to encourage everyday citizens to invest in stocks, bonds, or funds.Voluntary Choice:
The policy relies on incentives and financial integration rather than any forced seizure of private funds.

It is the President of the EU and her actual words. Not just a vague quote.
If they started this there would be a run on banks that would be of Great Depression level.

I'm sure after the negative interest rates for the better part of a decade, all of the people are scrambling to bring money home for the state to raid some more....

If its voluntary, then people should be able to do what they want with their money.
But I would bet the government is going to "insure" the investments against failure with everyone's tax money whether they are in the fund or not. That, being forced to back others investments, is where the real issues start.

I got for one, always trust the government to have the interest of their taxpayers in mind.
