If tweet fails to load, click here. JUST IN - EU President Ursula von der Leyen says that people's savings accounts are a problem
and that she must put this money "to the service of European companies"
says her plan to "securitize them" and "supervise them"
They're coming for your savings, Europe.

Obama floated the idea of raiding 401k accounts.
It’s one way to pay off the debt.
It’s one way to pay off the debt.

That happens when you repeatedly demonstrate that you aren't going to fight for your rights because it might hurt someone's feelings

"Securitize them" and "supervise them".
SUPER Orwellian.

Not shocking, this isn't as bad as the OP's post makes it

While I don't really agree, this isn't about taking savings for public uses. It's about basically creating a better ROI than savings by securitizing them to invest in private businesses to increase returns.

In Brussels they are counting on redirecting the private savings of Europeans toward patching holes in their own economy. The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, publicly called the bank deposits of EU residents “lazy.” But the commission found an interesting proposal to put the people’s accumulations at risk.
Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission:
“In Europe there are savings. Unfortunately, these savings are idle. €10 trillion of household savings at present remain on bank deposits. And a significant part of European savings is invested outside our continent. Europe must now make these savings work for the good of its business. We have put forward proposals on securitization, investments of banks and insurance companies, and also on the integration of our markets and their supervision. Together they can unlock up to €470 billion of additional investments.”

Remember when Canada de-banked citizens they didn’t agree with?

"F*ck Them"
Take your savings account and give it to some 3rd world barbarian, who smells like a Goats arse on a hot day. They better lock down the banks immediately. My money would be out by tomorrow morning

You people need to stop posting X rage bait shite without researching it.
The EU SIU is not at all about coming for people’s savings accounts and it’s not about securitization of those accounts.
It’s an initiative to make investment products more accessible to ordinary investors so that they have more options other than letting their money sit in savings accounts.
You people love making yourselves miserable.

Kinda similar to W’s idea for Social Security?

I was going to make a similar comparison but it's not 1:1 and would confuse many.

She's going to try diverting capital away from America and toward the EU.
