The probability of what it took to get life on earth, and even moreso, intelligent life, is so great, that it's not crazy to think there's no other advanced life out there.

I don't think you comprehend how big the universe is. A quick Google search puts the number of stars in the Milky Way at 100,000 million. For a simple comparison, the odds of winning the lottery are one in 292 million. If each star had a Powerball number that would mean 342 lottery winners in just our own galaxy. Now multiply that by the millions of other galaxies and it's really impossible to imagine Earth is the only planet with intelligent life.

Man, don't sweat it. If it's meant to be, it will happen. Man won't save himself from every risk. Live your life and don't worry about such foolish shite!

I believe as Stephen Hawkings believed.

I am not sure if there is any other intelligent life in the Universe, but I can say with a great degree of certainty that if there is, none has ever visited our planet.

For the sake of argument assume that any intelligent life form would have a DNA structure similar to our own.

Now consider that there is only a little less than 2% difference in the DNA of a human and that of a monkey. Think about how different the two are.

Now consider an alien species having the technology to travel through space and reach earth. It's not hard to imagine that species with 2% more intelligence than the human species. It's quite possible that our most advanced physics would be noting more than kindergarten drawings of alien children hanging on a refrigerator in their world.

If all this were true then I believe an alien species that visited earth would have no problem destroying all of humanity and taking earths resources for themselves. The fact that we are still to me says that there is no other intelligent life in the universe capable of traveling to earth.

Or we don't have the right resources.

What if they visited 350,000 years ago? Time is the aspect of the universe people fail to take in to account, it’s always distance as the hurdle. If a civilization lasted 200,000 years they’d be highly advanced. However, what are the odds that they’re peaking at the exact time we exist right now? If they only flamed out 75,000 years ago, a blip in time, we’d never know.

Or a billion years ago. We have witnessed in our lifetime the explosion of stars which happened billions of years ago. Distances in space are vast even at the speed of light. So it is likely there is other intelligent life out there. It just can't get to us or died out before it got here.

What do you think the Space Force is?

And do you think we would be able to entertain a planetary defense program without first developing the basics?

Landing on the moon and Mars are mere stepping stones to something as complex as a planetary defense system.

That would be like an ant colony devoting a troop of ants to defend against human attacks.
