I’m up here in yankee-land, hence the 3.5 hour drive to BR.

Ah. Sorry, I misread your post. Thought you were driving to BR for the procedure

Seriously? Well then, I’m definitely driving the next day.

Thats what they told me, but i felt fine a couple hours after. I wouldnt risk it though. Besides, youll be too busy eating to drive.

How come in the US we still insist on sticking outdated oversized cameras up assholes, when Asians just swallow a camera pill?

the camera pill is a pretty halfass way to do things. at best there's a good chance of missing stuff due to the doctor not wanting to watch a butt movie and at worst if anything looks slightly strange they're gonna scope you anyway

Dont know if this is some joke going over my head, but the reason they shove that thing up your butt is so they can correct any issues while in there.

Wow, thats a long drive for a colonscopy. Just curious, why didn't you have it done locally?

You will have to have someone drive you to the office and someone will have to drive you home.

The anethesia will have you so groggy for a few hour after ward that you will be unable to drive.

BTW, eat lightly a couple of days before the procedure.

It will help you in your pre-prep before the procedure.

Best wishes.

Right, but it makes cilonstopies a procedure, instead of just swallowing a pill.

I already told my doctor I'm getting my 40 year old tests done in Bangkok.

By far. Procedure wasn't bad, and they didn't even put me to sleep. Light sedative, didn't feel anything but cold water, but I was aware of everything and asking questions the whole time.
But the 20 minute ride there was FAR too long of a drive.
3 hours? Good luck with that.

I now live in West Monroeso the procedure is scheduled to occur here. My family lives in BR. I planned on coming into town Tuesday but forgot about the colonoscopy. I don’t want to cancel this close to the appt.

4 years ago I had a colonoscopy in the morning. That afternoon I hooked up my fifth wheel, drove two hours to a campground and backed that sucker in. Just sayin

Yeah. I live less than 2 miles from where they did my colonoscopy. It was a nervous 5 minute butt cheek clenching ride

I do not want to encourage you to do something dangerous but I had planned for someone to drive me home as directed but I felt okay after an hour of recovery so I was able to let them drive back to work and I drove myself home. Then I was awake the rest of the day and did a couple of short errands.

That was just my experience, may vary from person to person. I couldn't tell that the doc did anything. For all I know he could have defrauded me but 15 people would have had to have been in on it. The hospital/doctor's process was smooth as glass.

Depends on what kind of prep they gave you.

I had one back in August. If you have Supaprep the first dose isn't that bad (the second tastes worse, though it's the same stuff). Plan to get some good reading material for the throne.

And yes, you will be sleepy the next day. So don't plan on driving (especially long distances).

It's not a joke. If they find a polyp they can remove it while you're under. Then test it for colon cancer.
