can I still plan on driving in that evening or just plan for the next day?

Next day. Either do it with zero anesthesia (possible, but not really recommended), or plan on leaving the following day (unless someone else is driving).

Had one this summer at 27.

The Superbowl Prep tastes like a nasty Sweettart but it's not bad if you just chug the whole thing and chase it with some white grape juice.

My dad said he sipped on it for an hour or so but I couldn't do that. Just gulp it until it's gone and chase with a little juice.

Easy peasy. Then get ready to pee out your butt all night.

If you can, take off the day before to prep. It's better than running to the shitter every 10 minutes while you're at work.

Had one last Friday and slept most of Friday and Saturday but I am 60.

They split the prep into the night before and the morning of. I did not get clear until my final action. That worried me but it was all good. Propafall is your friend!

Having my first colonoscopy and upper GI done tomorrow. I have been on a clear liquid diet since yesterday morning. The suprep prep isn’t too bad so far. Don’t try to drive the same day. In fact my instructions tell me to not drive until the next day. I would suggest not starting the prep until you can be near a toilet at all times. If all goes well I plan on eating a bacon cheeseburger at Brewbacher’s for lunch. Prayers all goes well with yours.

You cannot drive the day of your procedure after sedation

You can request to have the procedure without anesthesia however

Don't lie to the nurses either and say you aren't driving and drive off

They will call the police and you'll get a DUI Mr. Hero

My dad had one a few years ago and thought he could drive after.

Yeah. No. I had to go pick him up because my mom couldn't get away from the office. He was so out of it, it was ridiculous.

And that night you won't remember where you had lunch.

Just do it without sedation and you can drive yourself home.

My dad has had to get epidurals for his back. Sometimes I really think he could drive afterward. Other times he's in a complete fog for most of the day.

Just checked my prescription and I have Gavilyte-g solution. Lemon flavored. Guess I’ll start this nasty crap in the afternoon tomorrow. Yuck.

Just so everyone knows, I’ve changed up my plans and won’t be driving until the next day. No reason to chance it just to sleep an extra day at the parents. Thanks for all the advice and now I’ll be praying for no polyps!!

Had one last week. You'll be groggy the rest of the day.I wouldn't plan on driving. The procedure isn't bad but you'll be wiped from the preparation day before and also the drugs that day.

Depending on what anesthesia they used, you may not be groggy. They used propofol on me. I got out of mine around 10:30 and was completely fine when I left 15 minutes later.

The prep was definitely the worst part but not as bad as I feared. Just trying to drink 8 oz of that stuff every 20 minutes was disgusting.

What kind of prep did y'all have that was so disgusting? Mine was just some flavorless OTC stuff I mixed with gatorade. The shitting water for 12 hours sucked, but really I hated not being able to eat for that day and a half.
