Colonoscopy....3 hour drive on same day?

So, I mixed up my dates and I have my first ever colonoscopy scheduled for this Tuesday instead of the next. Good thing is I already asked off of work. Bad thing is that I planned on driving into Baton Rouge that day from Monroe. I’m sure I’ll get the usual low hanging fruit, non funny comments about getting a long black tube up my butt, but for those of ya’ll that have had the procedure, can I still plan on driving in that evening or just plan for the next day? I guess I can just wait and see how it goes but trying to plan accordingly. Thanks!!

You’ll be too sleepy from the drugs. Seriously.

You won't be driving for several hours after the procedure, probably plan on the next day.

You'll shite yourself on the way there and fall asleep on the way back (and possibly shite yourself again).

I kinda figured that. Waiting one day really doesn’t change much for me so I guess I’ll plan on that. I do have to pick up a couple of pecan pies that day though.

You'll be told not to drive for 24 hours after procedure.
The 12 hours before, you'll be sitting on a toilet.

I hear the prep is the worst part. Picked up my kit from the pharmacy last night. Not looking forward to this.

Just get a hotel and Uber it. I wouldn't plan on driving 3-4 hours

Seriously? Well then, I’m definitely driving the next day.

FWIW it's not that bad man. I did mine at 40 due to family history

Same here, I’m 41. I’ve been putting it off though but I have a family history of polyps too.

How come in the US we still insist on sticking outdated oversized cameras up assholes, when Asians just swallow a camera pill?

Get someone else to do that for you or pick them up when you have someone driving you home from the procedure. I assume you have someone to take you and bring you home. They won't let you drive yourself when it's done.

Propofal is good stuff. They won't let you drive after but within a couple of hours of getting home I've been working and later in the day driving. I've had several as colon cancer is in my family. My tip is to schedule it first thing in the morning and start your prep a couple hours early the day before so you can actually get a decent nights sleep.
Who is your gastroenterologist?

What? The procedure is in West Monroe and I now live there. I don’t need a hotel.
