NWS:

Medium range models continue to struggle with forecast scenario
beyond Thursday in strong northwesterly flow. Some of the
operational model guidance is out of step with ensemble means as
well. Operational models are drier than the ensembles on Saturday
with another cold frontal passage. Forecast confidence on
precipitation occurring isn`t all that high, but for continuity
with the neighboring offices, will hold in mention of
precipitation. Operational ECMWF currently an outlier with
significant low development over the central Gulf of Mexico Sunday
into Monday, with other models waiting until system gets out into
the Atlantic.

Yeah, I thought this was going to be like that Sex Island thing, but with models.

I don't know when, but we are getting something this year.

All the models flirting with it the last few systems indicate to me the weather pattern keeps trying to set up for it. We just need all the pieces to fall into place.

The people in the know will point out that this is too far out to take seriously.

Still fun to dream though

Yep.

They well may not tie together right, but here's the window right here.

This next weekend system is our best shot thus far but still in that troublesome mid range that hasn't been stellar for any model this winter.

As always, we'll know more later.
