OJ convinced some people that he actually was innocent, albeit in part by portraying the police to be racist. But it’s not like anybody was arguing that OJ’s wife’s death wasn’t that bad.
Clancy on the other hand is acknowledged to have committed the crime, but people are acting like it’s not that bad because she had some seemingly made up conditions like “post-partum psychosis.”

Several of the black jurors in the OJ case have flat out said they believed he was 100% guilty but it was "payback"

The concurrent social trends of dehumanizing children and the humanization of pets (especially dogs) is remarkable.
If Lindsey Clancy had strangled three puppies from the rescue shelter they would no doubt have asked for the maximum penalty.
