City inspectors accused of skipping inspections at two more major CBD building sites

Two building inspectors the city wants to fire for falsifying their inspections at the ill-fated Hard Rock Hotel construction site, in the weeks and months before it collapsed, were also no-shows for inspections at two other downtown high-rise projects still in progress, the city confirmed Monday to WWL-TV.
In addition to the Hard Rock site, the city accuses inspectors Julie Tweeter and Eric Treadaway of approving inspections at the Four Seasons Hotel project at the old World Trade Center building, without conducting those inspections in person. In addition, Tweeter allegedly fabricated an inspection of the parking garage at the new 29-story Odeon Tower, centerpiece of the South Market District development.

I’m sure they are covered by a union CBA. Good luck taking any swift employment action in that case.
No excuse for the criminal side.

Is it not considered gross negligence potentially putting thousands of people at risk.

That dumb, lazy and incompetent bitch is screwed. The GPS on her city vehicle is going to show that she was home or nowhere near the site on multiple occasions with no reasonable explanation and no one is going to want to lie for her to say that she was there when she wasn't because then their asses will be dragged into this thing (and no one wants their name involved in this issue due to the seriousness of it). The scary part is that it appears that she isn't the only one lying about making inspections.
This dumb whore knows somebody that got her this job when she wasn't even qualified and it will probably take a reporter like Lee Zurich to find out who it was and if red flags were overlooked to set her up with this job. I'm sure her supervisor was not doing anything either. I'm sure there will be plenty more to come.

I wondered how many other projects weren't properly inspected.
What of that new highrise being built across from the Loyola main post office?
It's huge.

What about her boss who is supposed to check her GPS and make sure she is doing her job? They all should be in jail.

Talk about jumping down the rabbit hole. If shes gluten caught up with these, there are gonna be loads of others. Wonder how far back these fake inspections are going to go.

I’ve gone up this building for tours multiple times. God dammit.

I would imagine they would need to go back and check everything she's done. What happens if they go back and find buildings not up to code? Will the city have to pay for the new construction? I'm guessing no.

Exactly. This is multiple levels. The blame doesn’t fall only on her.

The city is going to try and pin this all on the inspectors. The incompetence doesn’t stop with them, there’s lots of heads that should and hopefully will roll when this is over.

How, generally, does the construction foreman know his inspection to proceed has been signed? Is that a in person, on-site, post inspection type thing? Curious if the construction side could be unaware of the fake inspections, or at least plausibly claim to be.

State should vote to remove the Charter of the City of New Orleans. It would probably be rife with corruption, but the Louisiana State Government running the entire city would be a step up from this disaster.
