I’ve never understood the need for IV access. Just jab them with enough fentanyl, given intramuscularly, to OD and be done with it.

They’re shooting them up with narcotics, the death is pleasent. What would be painful about shooting up a narcotic but bliss that they don’t deserve.
The gas chamber is straight nitrogen laughing gas that you get at dentist.

I guess the folks on here calling for her torture got what they wanted.
I don't care about any of that. They cut up an innocent girl with a box cutter? and she crushed her skull with a chunk of cement. Cannot imagine the terror that girl went through.
I don't care about torture, but why should she exist after that? That should be forfeiting your existence away.
In 2001, Christa was charged with the attempted murder of a fellow inmate and sentenced to an additional 25 years.
It's really easy not to kill someone in this life. It's even more disturbing a woman could carry this crap out. This isn't some spur of the moment thing. They lured her and had a lookout. They smashed her skull like an egg.
How do people just forget about the actual victim? Now they claim she's the victim, because she had some troubled childhood. Many have troubled childhoods and are raped and they don't go out killing teenage girls like that. Now Christina is the "victim." It's so disgusting to me.
All these people defending her like how about you have your 16 year old killed by an 18 year old girl in the same manner. This isn't some "typical" murder. Some say her execution won't bring peace to the actual victim's mother, but this is what she wants. She wants the last image Christina sees is a picture of the daughter whose life she took. Seems like seeing this through is very important to her.
According to the teen girl who was the lookout she thought they were just going to beat her up. Again, not right, but more understandable given this type of environment.

Fear and Freezing Up During the Attack
Once they reached the isolated area on the University of Tennessee agricultural campus and the brutal assault began, Peterson claimed she became paralyzed by fear. She testified that she did not physically participate in the beating, slashing, or the final killing blows dealt by Pike and Shipp. Instead, she stood by and acted as a lookout because she was terrified of what Pike—who was acting with extreme, volatile violence—might do to her if she tried to intervene or run away.
quote:
"The idea that Slemmer wanted to "steal" Shipp was a false rumor that Christa Pike manufactured in her own mind. Slemmer's friends and family explicitly stated that she had absolutely no interest in Shipp and was merely trying to complete her computer technology training at the Job Corps."
Christina comes across as a liar. I listen to her to this day and still feel that she is a liar. I'm currently watching the doc on this that is clearly slanted to be anti death penalty and pro Christina Pike is a victim and it's disgusting. Never once does she even show any remorse. She just says she was a dumb teen. Maybe she has shown remorse before, but if a doc is being made she should should have a point to say how horrible she was and how terrible she felt for what she did. I never saw her mention anything about the victim or her family.
It's wild to me if someone saw this going down and shot her dead nobody would have a problem with putting her down, but now she's being made out to be a victim and people feel some kind of way for her.
People against the death penalty also want to argue it's so much worse to sit there in prison, but she gets to have friends and even some outreach programs. She gets to have pen pals willing to try and help bust her out as well as one of the guards she befriended. Christa Pike was the target of a foiled prison escape plot in March 2012." All of life's needs are provided to her. It's not luxury, but it's better than many people that have to worry about how their needs are going to get met. My thing is this judge in the doc was trying to make her out to be some victim due to her upbringing and young age says it's not her fault, but then she says it's so much worse for her to sit in prison reflecting on it. If she is some victim then why does she want her to suffer so much if being in prison is so much worse? It's also interesting how Pike was terrified of being put down, but she doesn't appear to have any remorse towards the life she ended.

What is the minimum threshold someone would have to meet to make you want to murder them? I need to know if you're a psychopath or not.
I'll give you an example: I could easily and unashamedly, choke the life out of the freak who killed Charlie Kirk. Or put a bullet between his eyes. Of course, this is only a pipe dream that I wouldn't attempt, due to my fear of being locked away waiting on my execution. So, call me what you want but the death penalty does work sometimes.

If anyone should have arrived at the emergency room with a DNR attached, It's Crista Pike.
But, according to the New York Times headline
LINK she was unconscious AND was placed on a ventilator.
Gee whiz: wouldn't she be dead without the intervention?

I don't get trying to bring her back. If the purpose was for her to be dead then why not let the injections take their course even if they took longer than planned?

That's fine, I'm just saying there are probably 150,000 people sitting in prison for murder right now who deserve death just as much as she did, yet they didn't get the death penalty.
Just a guess, probably 100,000 of those that deserve it more than her.
I guess as a species we're just too stupid to apply the death penalty in somewhat of a fair and just manner.
23 states, DC, and several territories don’t have the death penalty as an option in their laws.
Several more states that have it as an option in their laws have either a judicial stoppage of some kind or Governor decree creating a moratorium on performing the actual executions. Some have been in place long enough like in California that they have also likely limited the penalty even being sought in the first place to at least a small degree especially with certain DAs & Judges.
Some of that argument about being arbitrary or fair is about federalism. It affects your numbers comparing death row numbers to convicted murderers in another post either way.
I don’t know if you are (I just could not find anything saying 150,000 without including non-capital murder & manslaughters), but If you are including all criminal homicides or just including any non-capital murders to get to 150,000 you would be including more where capital punishment is not option regardless of which state is involved.
Comparing elements required for capital murder convictions in states with death penalty to the next lesser murder charge in same state might be a better study of fairness, what is just, and how much is arbitrary in those specific states than just comparing total murder/homicide convictions to death row populations.
With capital murder trials a comparison of how many convicted get the death penalty compared to those getting life without parole along with those where jury came back with a non-capital conviction instead would also be relevant along with how the laws are written.

Just put these frickers in a running car in a closed garage. Painless. Problem solved.
