I remember as a kid , coming home from a trip from New Orleans with my parents, riding in the back of the station wagon, everything you picked up from there, magazine, newspaper, brochure, etc,. had her ads in them, I'd just keep looking at her pic, it was as good as the old Sears catalogue

Accidentally ran into her Easter parade last year. Started off innocent enough... Then came the carrots and other phallic symbols.
Towards the end my daughter was asking if that was how babies were made as a float of grinding strippers rolled past.

My grandparents used to attend First Baptist Church in New Orleans when it was in the Garden District. Chris Owen used to show up every Easter and other holidays. I'm told she would arrive just after the service started and walk all the way to the front of the church dressed in her finest to sit on one of the front pews. She would drop a $100 in the offering plate. I'm sure a lot of the "deacons" were hoping she didn't call them by name when she saw them.

Famous entertainer from New Orleans. Has a place on Bourbon Street. You aren't from around here are you?
Not all Louisianians live and die by the social and entertainment happenings of New Orleans.
You might think she’s a celebrity, but drop in any other Louisiana city and she’d just be some weird looking broad.

Yep, been a fixture in the Quarter most all my life, and I'm 66 yrs. old.
She's been down there since I was only 4 years old.

I see Chris Owens at the Rouse's on Vets and Causeway frequently. She is always with her husband(?). She always looks uncomfortable or maybe a scared expression on her face. She is Moses like as far as age.

I swear I can remember being 10 years old and she had a full head of gray hair and had to be 50-60 then...Dang.

That's mighty creepy of you to snap that pic of her while she's shopping.

She’s already been hit more times than the jukebox button playing “You’re the One That I Want” in just about every pizza joint In 1978.
