I can't count how many people have instructed my kids to NOT use yes ma'am/no sir or to call them by their first names with no Miss or Mister.
Where do you live? I virtually never see that around Houston. I think I would have a stroke.

Middle'ish South Cackalacky... family, church friends, ladies at a drive thru or post office or grocery, neighbors.
Hell, **I** have been to told not to say Mrs, Ms, Miss or Ma'am... I am 42 and use those for females both older and younger than myself.
Ticked me off but good when other adults intruded upon my teaching my own children basic manners.

Wow. I live in suburban Houston, and I can tell you that’s still alive and well down here.

You darn tootin they should have! One of those whipper snappers could have asked her to Sunday service, maybe even a soda fountain after! That's not if she's not too busy doing content for her pay pigs

A coworker always holds doors for the girls. He will sprint ahead to grab a car door too. It is nice
He wants to get in y'all's pants. No man goes out of his way like this without some kind alternative motive.
Ill hold the door for people, but I had one woman walk to another door when I was holding it open for her. Women can only blame themselves for random men not going out of the way for them anymore.

men did not put up much of a fight to keep it
Because women stop fighting to keep their legs closed. No need to go out of the way when it's no longer needed to get what is wanted.

Benevolent sexism has done nothing but harm men. My life is not worth less just because of my anatomy.

I remember one night a few yrs out of college, I met up with some friends at a bar. At some point new people came thru I didn't know and you get introduced. Just like any normal night.
Anyway, I don't shake girls hands like I shake a man's hand. And one girl, who was a bit drunk, didn't like that and decided to put me on blast loudly. Acted like she needed to teach me what a "manly handshake" was. I just turned around, and ignored her. Granted her gfs were embarrassed, but only takes one to ruin it for all.

Was once asked by a young man for dating advice & I asked him how did he "treat" his dates to start. "Well, I push the open button on her door to help her get in". Small, simple things are going going gone if not all gone already.

chivalry is dead

Only for men who let women dictate how they behave.

Which is about 99% of men 18-24, and probably 90% of men 25-still alive

The important question I haven't seen anyone ask...Was your instinct right, did she have a nice arse?
