I doubt it was "made" in a lab.
Did it escape from a lab due to poor operation and/or incompetence? Probably.

actually, no
the reason why Ebola and Nippah (and similar viruses) aren't a real pandemic threat is that they can't spread as easily b/c they're so deadly (and work so fast)
but it's likely if this was lab-made, China didn't let it out on purpose and it was just another CCP frickup

The scientific consensus is that it's a naturally occurring virus. That doesn't preclude the possibility of it being a naturally occurring virus that escaped from a lab while they were researching it. I notice China doesn't say anything about that, while knocking down a strawman that nobody believes except hard core tinfoil hatters.

Doesn’t have to be the only virus they were making. If this is from a lab, I don’t think they deliberately set it free, it’s just someone really fricked up and is likely no longer with us, whether that be from the virus or the CCP killing him as a punishment.
