Can someone explain to me how this is a thing? Was talking to a friend of mine who has a 4 year old and he was explaining to me that his son will only eat chicken nuggets, chicken tenders, and the like, and will pitch a fit if they give him anything else. So if they go out to dinner at a place without nuggets or fried chicken bits, they'll stop at a fast food place and grab him some and take it to the restaurant.

I looked at this mf like he had lost his mind.

Hey, I have an idea. If the kid won't eat his pork chops and demands chicken nuggets instead, then he's not actually hungry. Let him go a night without eating and those pork chops will taste better than any chicken nuggets he's ever had.

What the hell is wrong with parents?

My parents wouldn't let me leave the table until the first plate was clean.

If I copped an attitude they'd break out the video camera

We should all aspire to be as great of a role model as you are. Keep up the great work.

McDonalds has been around forever and people weren't always this fat and I think this is part of the problem. Get em hooked early and do nothing to kick the habit

Kids can eat or not eat. If they get hungry enough they’ll learn to not be picky.

In a siege, there are no picky eaters.

First they eat the horses. Then the dogs. Then the cats. Then the rats.

They boil the leather of their shoes to make soup.

By the end, they eat the dead.

Who cares that you don’t like beets.

ETA: Christ what is wrong with me? I’m way too serious. I take the premise of kids being picky eaters and end up in this place where the dead are eaten.

ETA2: “If you don’t eat your broccoli, you’ll end up eating brains.”

I'm beginning to think my parents like me so much because they never had to convince my fatass to eat whatever they flung in front of me.

I remember being a small child and telling my mom I wasn't going to eat the dinner she cooked. My dad looked at me like I just said the moon was made of cheese. He took my food and sent me to my room. Told me I'd be hungry enough to eat what they served me the next morning.

It’s a fine line to tread as a parent, believe me. If the kid has gotten that far, though, there needs to be a correction.

That and as the third child, I was a godsend for sleeping through the night pretty close to day one.

I found out I'm all my mom's passwords

Hang on, do you have kids? If not, stfu.

My kids eat everything but I’m not gonna judge what another parent has to do to get things done.

My nephew went through a phase around that same age where he would only eat a select few things. He grew out of it and eats anything now. I suggest the parents have the right idea of not making a huge issue of it.

There's a middle ground to this. It's ok to not like some things, but this shite "my kid only eats chicken nuggets and hot dogs" is stupid.

Why are you so invested in the dietary habits of children that aren’t yours? I’m fact I’m curious why this is even a thing you notice

I had a cousin who would only eat “round ham” when she was little.

What's the line you're treading? Honest question. The kid can eat or not eat. If they're not eating, it's because they're not hungry enough.

If you let things slide every time they complain, they'll know exactly how to get their way next time they don't want what you're providing.

Stupidest arguement out there.

Are you a professional athlete? If not, don't ever comment on a sporting event again.

Why, there's things that are objectively bad, you don't need to have done them or been involved in them to know that

For a 4 year old I tend to agree but when they are younger, still drinking tons of milk, it means they'll be up all night crying and drinking milk if they don't eat "dinner" so it is very understandable to give them what they want at that time.
