re: Children who won't eat their food and the parents who allow this

Beating children isn’t parenting, dumbass
Sure it is, it's just a bad way to do it.

Judging parenting styles from a non parent is akin to telling an astronaut how to fix the space station.
You don't think people that have never been to space do exactly that?

But yes, you can still say “shooting a hole through the space craft is a bad idea” even if you are not an astronaut. Doesn’t make the rest of your ideas about raising a child any less stupid.
For the third time, I never said anything about a certain way of parenting being right or wrong, simply the premise of your arguement is fatally flawed. You've done nothing to refute that but babble incoherent and factually inaccurate bullshite.

We’re on an LSU board where people are openly critical of players, coaches, the AD, and politicians. People that have no personal experience in any of these areas. Yet they want to check credentials before allowing someone to be critical of parents.
Again, it’s sad that you don’t see how comical this is.

It doesn't take a parent to understand that because that isn't some wisdom that you suddenly gain when you become a parent. Most 10 yo's can tell you that isn't healthy so I don't know what all the bitching is about
Not according to the OT

Remember when your parents would tell you there were starving kids in Africa that would love to eat that food?

Is there people out there that aren’t parents that don’t know what they are talking about.
Of course

You thinking it the best and it being the best in reality don't have to coincide. The person without kids can be right.

are there any bad parents out there? Yes or no
Did I say there wasn’t? No. There are plenty of people that shouldn’t breed. Doesn’t take away from the fact that people without kids giving parenting advice is any less stupid.
I made a lot of assumptions about how to raise my kids. That shite goes out the window once you have them. I’m a parent of 2 boys under 5. And I still don’t know what I’m doing, I’m just doing my best not to screw them up. It’s great to have a plan, but every kid is different. Pretending you know exactly what to do is foolish. You’ll learn that when you have your own.

Do you go to a restaurant and let other people order for you? I am not a fan of meatloaf. When we have it, I just eat a sandwich. There is probably a distinction Inam missing. My house is not a prison where they have to eat what I give them or starve. I also like to choose my own clothes and the people I hang out with. I suppose if I want my child to wear pink socks, green pants and a dunce hat to school and they choose not to wear those clothes then they go without clothes even though it’s what I am offering?
It’s not like I am only giving the child donuts or candy canes if they ask for it. But, to ask them to eat oysters or boudin balls because that’s what I cooked and they can like it or leave it seems archaic.
Do you tell your guests they can only eat what you offer? Of course not. Similar to the sharing thing. We make kids share their toys, but if some stranger were to come to our house asking to share our car or truck we would tell them to kick rocks.

So, because I don’t have any coaching experience, do you think Coach O should listen to what I say?

1. That's not suprising
2. Maybe that says more about you than other people

No one said that

Well, I have firsthand experience. Do you? Now I’m going watch home alone with my oldest as my 1 year old is constantly trying to get into everything. Enjoy your day.

Who cares if he listens? Why do you think it’s acceptable to express your opinions on coaching if you have no experience coaching college football?

If you know what you're talking about sure, but you don't so in this specific case, no.
Mike Leach never played college football. He seems to be doing OK at coaching it.

I'll admit to looking sideways at non-parents giving discipline advice but that's not the premise of this thread. Eating nothing but a single processed food is clearly bad for you.
Let's take this one step further. Say the kid will only eat marshmallows and the parents only feed him marshmallows. Do you have to be a parent to recognize that as unhealthy behavior?

Same question to you about parenting.

My parents eventually gave up with me and green beans, apparently I hated them and still do.
Of course the first baby food my son got excited for was green beans.

That doesnt make it a fact. I'm not sure what is so hard to understand about that. I'm sure Todd Maranovich's dad thought he was a good dad and doing what was best for his son to, and all he was doing was pushing him towards a life of drugs and failure.
