My parents allowed me not to eat

But I couldn’t eat anything else either so it was either finish your food or starve

Lol, no. He wakes up and then goes to school where he eats, and likes, the shite they serve. Cereal, fruit, salad, pizza, etc...

Such a tough lesson.

I won’t force my kid to finish his plate. He/she can stop when full.

However, they will eat what we give them and if they don’t like it they can go hungry.

If all they'll eat is fried chicken that's the parents fault for letting them eat that shite so often.

My kid would eat boiled shrimp, steak and smoked salmon at that age.

But won't this likely result in a 4 year old that only wants chicken nuggets and weenies slightly browned on one edge, cut into five exactly equal segments?

I have a step nephew that only eats unhealthy foods. He’s also allowed to wear headphones and watch videos at the dinner table. This bothers me more than anything. The kid is 10. He should be able to eat a meal and have conversation.

I have a cousin who’s a year younger than me. When we were younger, he came camping with my family and my dad grilled t-bones over an open flame for everyone. He wanted my mom to go to the store and get corn dogs. He didn’t eat that night, but the next morning ate steak and eggs like he’d been famished for years.

Actually, it’s not. If you don’t have kids, then you don’t know what the frick your are talking about. Plain and simple. Your fricking dog is not a baby human.

We made an exception for my son. He was ALWAYS skinny. I swear you'd think we weren't feeding him at all. I joked all the time that if he woke me up at 3AM and wanted a milkshake that I'd get up and get him one.

My son didn't want his breakfast this morning and cried about it. I told him that was his breakfast.

By the time I shite, showered, shaved and the rest of the morning routine an hour later, he had eaten it.

You definitely don’t want to give your kid chicken nuggets every night, but you don’t want to be the “eat this asparagus and grass-fed steak every day or starve” hard-arse either.

There’s some middle ground to be had. Let the kid have McDs every once in a while, just don’t let them dictate what they eat all the time.
