Oh, so you live in a world where you only criticize people that have experienced the subject matter? How’s that working for you?

Don’t criticize the President unless you’ve been the President.

Don’t criticize Coach O unless you’ve been the head football coach at LSU.

Do you realize how stupid that sounds? No wonder why you’re a shitty parent. You’re a retard.

so true

I love that argument. I guess I'm to assume those people were never critical of Obama or Les Miles.

As soon as I see someone make that argument it's a signal that they're someone of either low intelligence or simply lacking in the ability to reason.

Can someone explain to me how this is a thing? Was talking to a friend of mine who has a 4 year old and he was explaining to me that his son will only eat chicken nuggets, chicken tenders, and the like, and will pitch a fit if they give him anything else. So if they go out to dinner at a place without nuggets or fried chicken bits, they'll stop at a fast food place and grab him some and take it to the restaurant.

I have a neighbor with a kid just like this. Claims he won't eat anything but chicken nuggets and has a deep freeze full of them. The funny thing is, my wife has watched her kids a couple of times and doesn't play that shite. The first time she cooked for him he demanded his "nuggies". He ended up waiting it out and not eating anything. The very next meal he actually sat down and ate what he was served. According to my neighbor it's absolutely impossible to get him to eat other foods. I don't think she's actually ever tried. Just plain lazy parenting.

I don't force my kids to eat food if they don't like it but I also don't do custom orders. Dinner is dinner. Eat it or go hungry. This has worked well as my kids are both adventurous eaters now and my daughter, in particular, started out as a very picky eater.

You definitely don’t want to give your kid chicken nuggets every night, but you don’t want to be the “eat this asparagus and grass-fed steak every day or starve” kind of parent either.

I made my daughter at least try most things once as a young child. If she tried and hated it I wouldn't force her to eat it. There are foods that I don't like and won't eat either.

Over time, you develop a pretty big range of options (including healthy foods) that you know they'll eat and introduce them to a lot different types of food.

I always give my son an option for his breakfast and his lunch. Usually the same things every day unless there's a special occasion. That way he takes ownership of it.

We do discuss dinner plans as a family when making the grocery list. It helps for him to be part of the conversation to have beets or broccoli during the week. I'm not saying our family dinners are all fun and games, but I think it's helped avoid the whiny, picky 5-year-old at the table.

Aubie,

That was my little brother growing up.

I would eat whatever was served, but he was super picky and the ignorant "no dinner for you" wasnt a punishment, he didnt care. He was very low percentile on weight.

There are so many variables and factors and individuality of kids that for a non-parent gimp to say "if your kid is a picky eater it means you are a bad parent" makes me chuckle.

But even worse is when an actual parent says "my kid ate everything we gave so that means you are a bad parent because your kid isn't my kid". That is pure redneck ignorance and I feel sorry for that kid being raised by such an ignorant frick for a father.

That’s cute. I remember when I thought like you. That I knew how to parent even though you didn’t have any. I also remember what it was like to judge other parents on their parenting skills. The fact is parenting is like nothing you’ve ever done nor can you imagine until you have them. Have a couple kids then check back with us about how much you knew previous to having kids.

Kids are great, but it is a daily challenge. So again, unless you have kids, you have no clue what you are talking about.

ETA: and armchair QBing and giving parental advise when you aren’t a parent isn’t even in the same universe you fricking clown.

brb making sure you’ve never been critical of any LSU players on Tiger Rant. It wouldnt be fair considering you’ve never played.

Your lack of self-awareness is both hilarious and sad.

I never said that, what I said is that the premise of your entire arguement is flawed and stupid, because it is.

Often time, yes. I wasn't aware this was a secret. The majority opinion typically operates on about 2% of the facts.

I'd say it's not easy. It seems easy. But it isn't.

They may not whine and complain about dinner, but they're going to whine and complain about other things. I bet their sense of entitlement at holidays, birthdays, and any other special occasion is strong and obnoxious. They'll make excuses when they don't succeed at school or struggle with a sports team. They won't share or make good friendships. They'll be likely to be mean to others in elementary school. They'll yell at their parents and be dark and gloomy and shut off in their room when they're a teenager. The parents will be the targets of those "Let us help your fricked up kid" commercials you hear on radio shows like Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage.

It's all downhill when you cave in to the chicken nuggets.

On black and whitw things, sure. However, you obviously lack perspective on some of the gray area things.

You talk about parenting things like they're so black and white, and often thats simply not the case. If you're literally only feeding your child chicken nuggets, that's a problem, but your other parenting threads leave a bit to be desired.
