I'm told that squirrel requires a dark roux.

Squirrel is even less delicious than rabbit. What's next?

Hasenpfeffer (German Rabbit Stew)

If you stew up some nutria (sorry, Tanden) like that rabbit, your friends and family probably wont be able to tell the difference.

Rabbits and chickens are both popular choices for homesteading and meat production, but they have distinct advantages and disadvantages. Rabbits generally offer leaner meat, are easier to butcher, and their manure can be used directly on plants, but they require more consistent care for breeding. Chickens provide eggs, meat, and fertilizer, but require more space and their manure needs composting.

You have never had a good squirrel gravy then….

I definitely have.. many many camp nights during squirrel season. It's not bad, just not my favorite.

There are few things more foul (fowl) smelling than when they spread the chicken manure fertilizer on the fields and pastures in the area where I live.

When we were kids on my uncle's farm in Iowa, we went rabbit hunting with .22s and killed a whole mess of them. My aunt butchered them and fried them up. Tasted like chicken.

Rabbit, duck, and chicken is all excellent.

Squirrel is just okay.

Squirrel is better than all 3 combined.

Eh, most dishes I’ve eaten of rabbit were mediocre at best. It’s no secret that you can do culinary magic with chicken.

I prefer chicken.

But I have had some damned good rabbit dishes as well.

I am a wild rabbit man, tho I do like the legs on a frog.

Once you see a chicken farm you will not eat them again unless you raise them for your own food.
