My friend lives in Santa Rosa Beach and here was his Sat report from Crab Island:
Epic shite show at crab island just by us:
Multiple anchor lines tangled by other boat engines. 3 drift collisions. One boat rammed another with rear of super pontoon then proceeded to gun it with group of kids right by engine.
Massive response to some emergency on north crab island. Took whomever to coast guard station where multiple EMS were waiting.

I’d much rather hang around the pool or beach at a rental than to go get into a crowded crowd on crab island. Just doesn’t even seem like fun.

Just a general answer. Never thought as Destin as trashy. I used to enjoy it, and enjoyed Pensacola, too.
