Youngsters don't want to put in that time.
Not my experience with those I’ve worked with in IT areas. Many do overvalue their education and certs. But they are eager to be given tasks to do and lead small projects.

CEOs and the executive teams think that because ironically the jobs it replaces the best right now are theirs. They send a few emails a day and report on information given to them by subordinates - “AI” can do that right now. So they try it out and think well if it can do my job it can do everyone’s.

There are places where AI would be a HUGE improvement in services over employees. I'm looking at you, post office.

The lifeblood of the American economy is consumer spending. It accounts for 70% of GDP. If we had 10-20% prolonged unemployment we'd be in conditions like the Great Depression.

AI and even more so, India, is about to crush US O&G employment.
XOM has quietly cut almost 30% of it's US headcount over the past 4 years, all going to India. All the other majors are in the process of doing the same. Additionally, there are AI programs out there tailored to certain aspects that will create a big employment hit. REs time in the shale game is limited as some of the AI programs out there can ingest your full inventory and spit out a multi year development plan fairly easily.

Imported labor or idiots (told what to do by AI) will take your job.

Robots are perfect for jobs like these. You define the process and the robot doesn’t make a mistake.
AI still sucks at context and abstract thinking. White collar jobs like law and consulting are a long way from being taken over by AI.
Someone posted an AI output on the more sports board about MLB stadiums the other day and it had 3 mistakes in it. 10%, it’s just an aggregator of online data

You are very lucky. We get idiots who want to come in making top pay and not do the 'entry' work. It's to the point where we would rather work short handed than try to hire anyone.

Robots don’t have the precision to do infinite random task. They also need to be programmed constantly to do the changes needed. They also don’t have the ability to be mobile to go from site to site.

He ain't lying. Not sure of the % of jobs but it will impact the world as we see it.

And when you realize the LLM’s are mostly being trained on social media (X, FB, Reddit), you’ll realize we are all doomed.

This is the shite AI is actually good at

And robots already do half this shite. Ever heard of Waymo?

Younger generation one day:
“Haha boomers!! You don’t understand AI!! It’s revolutionary! You are a relic! It’s a new world and you are being left behind!”
Younger generation the next day:
“Ai is taking our jobs!! It’s a terrible job market!! Everything is being automated!! We have no jobs with our liberal arts degrees!! We are being left behind!!”

I remember when computers took away all those jobs too.

If you say it, I can guarantee it is incorrect.

Total horeshit. This guy obviously has a massive financial stake in this prediction being true but i don't believe it at all.
With all the advances in AI up to this point the only thing changing about employment is the massive influx on cheap Indian labor on controlled wages. Theres been no significant AI advancement to cause massive job loss to date.
Unemployment still around 4.5%.
